Lovely venue, outside the village and surrounded by common land and golf course. Watch out for the cows!!
Breakfast was nice and they accommodated my slightly early check-out time.
This place has totally turned around since we last visited. This time we stayed overnight and had a fantastic evening meal. The rooms were cosy and clean. Comfortable beds. Breakfast was standout but most of all the staff were fantastic. Friendly, professional and a world away from the sloppy service of a few years ago. Would totally recommend.
We stayed for a concert at Westonbirt Arboretum. The staff were lovely and friendly and food and service were great - we ate in the restaurant on the evening of our stay (sharing platters highly recommended) and the breakfast the following day was good. The walls between rooms seem very thin, so need to be mindful of noise/volume of conversation, but other than that the location is peaceful and the bed was really comfy. We’d definitely stay here again.
Myself and my mum stayed here the night it was so lovely, The staff were really pleasant the location is so stunning , The breakfast was delicious i would highly reccomend this place if you want perfection 😁
From arrival to vacation staff were first class, polite, efficient and welcoming.
The Old Lodge is a picturesque establishment set in beautiful grounds. Perfect location for exploring Stroud and Nailsworth. Nailsworth Garden Centre is a must regardless if you’re a gardener or not! Room was compact but beautifully decorated and spotless. Gorgeous views from our room 3 . Breakfast was absolutely delicious and would definitely return. We stayed to attend a concert at Westonbirt Arboretum which was only about 15-20 minutes drive away. The absolute icing on the cake was eating outside in the beautiful gardens in glorious sunshine. Thank you and would highly recommend without a shadow of doubt ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great Service & Stay
This is the third time we have stayed here and as always the staff are very friendly and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. Food & breakfast were very good.
Really beautiful Gloucestershire..oldy world style property...nicely modernised....however....bathroom needed a bit more attention....radiator rusty and looking tatty...cracks in the plaster...actually the cracks are good..totally an age thing..so I am saying thats a positive!!!!.The loo seat was well loose though.... had a fab evening meal...great food .....great cooking....and great service..Anna is an absolute star here...introduced me to my room.... served dinner...a fabulous, attentive , customer service focussed member of staff, shes an absolute asset !!, Disappointed at breakfast......lovely produce...cooked beautifully....but...served on an ice cold plate..!!!!.1 minute in a microwave for the plate, and it would have been breakfast perfection !!!... Hey otherwise.. a fabulous stay.. a fabulous venue with fabulous staff and fab service !!!!
A lovely remote inn in a picturesque area.
Staff were extreamly welcoming. Room was comfortable and clean. With complimentary bottles of water and plenty of tea and coffee. Would deffinatly stay again.
Great place to stay. Breakfast very good. Only downside was the room was too hot and raditor thermostat not working.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Mostly fine. Staff very polite and helpful. Food good. Room clean and on tap tea was welcome!
A couple of gripes: Low water pressure to bathroom sink - alslthough shower was fine. More importantly there was a distinct lack of light on path from car park to hotel entrance and at he door entrance, I needed my phone light to see the combination numbers on the door entry system.
A lovely overnight stay. Room small and quirky but comfortable bed and although we could hear the people talking in the bar underneath the room it didn’t keep us awake. A lovely evening meal and excellent breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful. A good choice.
overnight stay - unusual location on remote common but bustling restaurant / pub. staff very friendly and great breakfast - my only gripe is property needs some TLC - room was in poor condition and with a little work this could be a 9 out of 10
