Disappointed that had to pay additional fee for parking. However it's not made very clear when booking through Expedia. I only realized when contacted by hotel the day before arrival. Shower bathroom very cramped. Toilet roll rack very poorly located. Difficult to reach once using facility. On the plus side: Toiletries, towels and contents of room tray goodies very good. Bed was comfortable. Enjoyed our food in the evening in the bar/restaurant. So overall ok.

The hotel is nice and has lovely staff. My negatives was there was a McDonald's box in the corner of my room, not sure how it was missed tbh. The other bit is the parking I paid extra for parking in the back for 20 which is alot. But when parking at the front its 15 for 24 hours and you get a free welcome drink. the hotel parking should be cheaper or at least off a welcome drink. Really close to town, would stay again.

You need a physical bank card!

Overall good. Inly things to bear in mind is you need a physical card to cover the £50 room expenses deposit. Crazy really as its normal not to have physical cards as most just use phones... I was very forunate to have brought one... hotel needs to change this policy as I am sure there have been many an awekward conversation where customers dont have physical cards! Only other not is parking is £15 per night extra.

Decent place to stay for a weekend in Guildford

Was mixed stay at the Mandolay. Check in was a bit slow and felt like we weren't that important. Our room was ok location felt a bit odd but was a decent size if a little dated but good job by Isha in housekeeping made up for its dated feel. Our bathroom was tiny and not well laid out for the size. The bar on first night was well run by Louis and was a lovely experience. Second night was a little stilted, the staff on front of house could have done with more senior staff support I think. Check out was efficient and well handled by a very friendly lady whose name I unfortunately failed to get. Overall decent stay but probably not my first choice in Guildford.

GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY

What a fantastic Hotel, clean and nicely decorated with a great team of staff. We upgraded to one of their better rooms and certainly wasnt disappointed. Fabulous location a stones throw fromn the Theatre, High Street and restauraunts, Shall certainly re visit if in the area again.

Located in a safe area of town close to dining, coffee and shopping. Walkable to bus and train stations, bus stops close by if you prefer. Hotel is lovely. Reception is up a few steps if mobility is an issue. Staff is friendly and always looking to improve your stay. Bar, lounge and restaurant are modern. Their cream tea was amazing and reasonably priced. We stayed in a triple. The room was lovely. Beds were comfortable, bathroom had towel warmer and towels were luxurious. Shower had good water pressure. We would definitely return again.

We had a lovely stay - super-welcoming staff, well-appointed rooms and a very convenient location for the town centre (few mins walk) and the G Live venue. We booked 3 of the smallest rooms for a Saturday night in late January and were upgraded to the classic doubles. They made sure to put us near each other. The included breakfast was great - full English and very varied continental buffet with nice touches like homemade jams (if buying this separately it was £14 for continental per person and £17 for the full English). The one and only slight negative was the lack of a lift - our rooms were on the 2nd floor and less mobile guests may struggle slightly. There were plenty of rooms on lower floors though.
