Spacious and well equipped bedroom. We had a balcony room with nice views over the neighbourhood. Excellent breakfast buffet and friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is situated in a very upmarket part of Harleem with a bus stop right by the hotel, as we travelled to the station most days for the train ride to Amsterdam. Overall a lovely 4 night stay.

The Carleton square Hotel in Haarlem, NL is an excellent place to stay. Within walking distance of the town center even for seniors with mobility issues. Very clean and comfortable. The hotel was very clean, the bed comfortable. The location was fine with a bus around the corner to the train station. We asked for 2 quiet rooms in the basic room category. They had one room that was quiet but said we would have to upgrade to get a quiet room. They gave a discount but it was still annoying after booking far in advance. The front desk personnel were fine but not overly helpful. The communication between us and the staff was not great. They thought we were going to change rooms but no one told us. It wasn’t that big of a deal so I would still stay there again. Haarlem was a great choice…very charming and walkable and less touristy than Amsterdam .
