Great little hotel with friendly staff. Rooms are large for a small hotel. There is no wheeled access to the hotel (scooter only) as it is down an alleyway, which was ok for us travelling light. Good location to walk around the sights. Even though the hotel is down a small alley we always felt safe walking back at night. Breakfast was very good. Loved our stay and would happily stay again.

This is a really great location right in the center of everything but at the same time, silent and very comfortable. The staff are extremely helpful.

The hotel was basic but fine. The location is inside an alleyway, so one has to get out on the main road and then walk about 500ft to the hotel with your luggage etc. and same on the way out. This wasn't apparent when we made the reservation. Additionally, the front desk is not staffed between 12am - 7am., so if you are leaving at that time, you have to check out and use the gate lock to let yourself out and then lock it when you leave.

This is an older property centrally located to the tourist attractions of HCMC but nestled in local area of small alleys with restaurants, coffee shops, beauty parlours, bakeries, basically everything you can imagine! The staff are outstanding, will help you in anyway they can.

The staff and service are superb, a classic example of the kind of virtuous behavior that can proceed from owning a small, successful, family owned business in a free market. Congratulations to the owner! (And congratulations to Vietnam for changing its economic policies from 40 years ago, to allow a great business like this to thrive.) Good breakfast, meticulously prepared, and presented with smiles and helpful friendliness. The room was very clean. Everything worked well. Our room had no windows. Good air conditioner. The main complaint is that the street which the hotel is on is a narrow street for walking and motorcycles, but not cars. So, in case you arrive with a lot of big baggage, it can be a problem, because your taxi driver cannot drive near the front of the door of the hotel. However, I imagine that in case you need help with bags, the hotel owner will make every effort to help you. Highly recommended hotel.

We absolutely adored this hotel and we loved staying here. It is in the middle of a lot of action in Saigon but it is tucked away into a quiet alley where we slept peacefully every night. The breakfast served at the hotel every is absolutely wonderful. The staff was so helpful and kind and genuinely enthusiastic about helping the guests. We left our bags on site when we arrived because we were hours earlier than check in and when we came back, they were in the room with the AC on. They even offered to let us shower when we came back to retrieve our stored bags after checkout because we had a late flight and went out exploring the hot city all day. There’s laundry service for a very small fee so we were able to pack lightly and have our clothes washed. They helped us book a scooter food tour through the hotel and we got a little discount that way on an amazing outing in the city. If you want an authentic saigon experience I highly recommend Ben Thanh retreats hotel. really can’t say enough good things about the place.

Great location set among private homes in a small, quiet laneway, this hotel has it all as far as we're concerned; amazing staff (nothing is too much trouble), comfortable room and bed, lovely breakfast, close to wide array of restaurants, walking distance to cheap shopping outlets. We loved our stay and will definitely be back next time we're in HCM.

Would describe Retreat as a guest house. Comfortable and clean. Good bed nice pillows. Nice fluffy towels. Excellent AC which didn't give me a stuffy nose. WiFi good. Treated as a family member not a guest. Staff had good English conversation skills and always went out of their way to be helpful. Also provided currency exchange at a very good rate. Breakfast was very laid back, a sea of calm in the midst of traffic chaos. A healthier breakfast than I would eat at home of seasonal fruit followed by a choice of fried rice, beef noodles or omelette. All excellent. The only drawback was that it took time for water to get warm.

Although the location of hotel is on a alley but Ben Thanh retreats hotel is still an excellent choice. The hotel is well organized, clean and safe. The hotel manager, Mr. Giáp is friendly and very helpful for you to stay. I’ll be coming back soon.

I chose this hotel due to location and was beyond impressed by the quality and cleanliness of the facilities. I have been disappointed in the past by pictures not representing the property accurately but this facility surpassed any expectations I had. As soon as you step in you feel you are made to feel you are at home, the staff (owners?) are extremely friendly and accommodating in every way. My only regret is not having more time to spend there...for sure this is my new “go to” hotel in HCMC.
