We liked Ibis at Sheun Wan Hong Kong as we stayed there last year 2024. This is why we booked again this year, 2025. However we were a bit disappointed. The room is not as clean as before and there were brown marks in the bathroom. House keeping lady was not pleasant when we asked for towels. In addition, as a VIP member with Expedia, we would be eligible for early check in and room upgrades. When checking in, front desk did not recognize the privilege status, we asked for early early check in which was granted, but no mention of room upgrade whether is available or not. Not until I wrote a review for the check in process, mentioning no room upgrade was offered, then Ibis front desk left a note in our room to go front desk to address the concern. When we were there, they asked if we wanted to an upgrade on the spot which we declined as we have stayed for 4 nights already and not wanting to move for another 4 nights stay. Front desk staff offered 2 free drink coupons to us instead. Honestly 2 free drinks = 4 nights upgrade? We do not feel respected. We took it as we didn’t want to make a big issue. Hope this can help Ibis to improve customer experience in the future.
