36 F American solo traveler first time in Hong Kong for 5 days. I loved it! To start, I was planning on having them hold my luggage from 6am to check in time , but they accommodated my early arrival without an extra free which was kind and certainly not required. It was really great to immediately check in. Cleanliness - don’t expect pristine but it’s also not trashy or dirty. It’s budget but good budget. The housekeeper was also very kind and lovey every day I say her. Location - about 7 min walk to the train station, no hills. And there is an ATM, 7/11(to reload your octopus card with cash), and a coffee shop /laundromat (super helpful and cute) literally across the street. It’s perfect. I only packed a carry on and had no issue doing laundry. Also on a cool, but sad street if you care about animals because there are a lot of shark fins. But a historic road for the region. Breakfast starts at 630am (not 4am like their sign says. And the Starbucks isn’t open very early by American standards, but there are a few options, including a McDonald’s a few mins away. I was pleasantly surprised to see someone greeting us at the main entry/ground level every day. Made me feel a little safer that no randos will walk in without being noticed. Lastly the bed is laughably hard lol but I know rock hard beds are common in some countries and honestly, it didn’t keep me up. Would definitely stay again.

Great service, good breakfast, good location but average rooms. The bed is super hard, ask for the topper when you check in. I also found it can be noisy, depending on your neighbours.

Easy check in, good location (10 min walk to central), rooms were clean and tidy and staff were helpful. Starbucks on ground floor was a happy coincidence - we never used any if the amenities but they looked good. Overall good value for money.

Room was satisfactory, big enough for two of us, with a good bathroom and a decent shower. Breakfast was adequate. The key attribute of this hotel is its location. It is conveniently situated within about 80m of the Tram stop. Trams run every couple of minutes and the tram will take you to the MRT stations in Central. Alternatively, the nearest MRT station is only 600m away.

Had a wonderful nine nights at this hotel. Harbor view is 100% worth it. The buffet was a great way to start the day (even though travelers should go have a few dim sum breakfasts during their HK stay). Yes the mattress was a bit hard but that’s to my liking. Had a great experience I’d 100% recommend.

We liked Ibis at Sheun Wan Hong Kong as we stayed there last year 2024. This is why we booked again this year, 2025. However we were a bit disappointed. The room is not as clean as before and there were brown marks in the bathroom. House keeping lady was not pleasant when we asked for towels. In addition, as a VIP member with Expedia, we would be eligible for early check in and room upgrades. When checking in, front desk did not recognize the privilege status, we asked for early early check in which was granted, but no mention of room upgrade whether is available or not. Not until I wrote a review for the check in process, mentioning no room upgrade was offered, then Ibis front desk left a note in our room to go front desk to address the concern. When we were there, they asked if we wanted to an upgrade on the spot which we declined as we have stayed for 4 nights already and not wanting to move for another 4 nights stay. Front desk staff offered 2 free drink coupons to us instead. Honestly 2 free drinks = 4 nights upgrade? We do not feel respected. We took it as we didn’t want to make a big issue. Hope this can help Ibis to improve customer experience in the future.
