This hotel feels like it had a facelift but you can still feel the age of it, with the exception of the pool deck. The view from pool of an unimpeded view of Diamond Head, that really you can’t get anywhere else. But that is unfortunately the highlight of the hotel. The rooms are just ok. The A/C in room was right next to the bed and kept switching on/off all night so not great for sleep. The bathroom was a step above grimy, so also had seen better days. Location was great for being at the Diamond Head side of Waikiki with quick walk to the less crowded beach areas and great access to the Zoo and Barefoot Beach Cafe at Queen’s Surf Beach.

The room smelled like burning plastic, the AC barely works. I woke up sick from inhaling it all night. Great location but the ruins are tiny and they all stink. Stayed here before for work.

Awesome service, very well melted and clean, Pool area was very serene and relaxing. Hostess in the restaurant was rude and wouldn’t bring are food to us and when I asked for condiments she suggest I go down stairs to the cafe area and I said I ordered my food here and would like condiments she wasn’t happy but gave them to me.

Overall, we had a good experience. We were safe and in a beautiful area. It can be a bit noisy at times outside, but no fault of the hotel. My biggest issue was the comfort of the room, for someone who stayed almost 2 weeks, I had no place to sit. It was either the bed or a small bench against the window. You should really think about fixing this issue for guests. Also, limited dinning for lunch and dinner. I expected the accommodations to be better. Overall, we had a great experience in Hawaii and the hotel was well kept and lovely.

My husband and I were on our "bucket list adventure to Waikiki, Hawaii" and stayed at Queen Kapiolani Hotel. This hotel is indeed a hidden paradise which sits off the main Waikiki strip but still walking distance from the beach. The exceptional valet attendants impressed us both! They were always friendly and were able to make recommended places to go see on the island or try a new meal place when we ask them during our 11 days stay. Our suite room decor with fridge and microwave was beautiful, but your lounge chairs in the room were not comfortable after long mile walks. Thanks for an outstanding stay!!

Hidden gem

Great location, newly renovated. Room is comfy, though lower floor could be noisy at night. Pool is a bit too small. Food at deck is so so, but good view.

Surf shop in the hotel with multi-day rentals and lockers, near the beach is very convenient. Being at the far end of the strip, across from the Zoo helps with the noise and makes you feel less part of the concrete jungle that is Waikiki, but still close to businesses.

Great location and property had been upgraded since our last visit to the area, only complaint was too many poorly supervised kids screaming and splashing in the pool and hotel staff did nothing about it when notified.
