Disliked: Cleanliness
The house was actually beautiful, but for a 140 cleaning fee, I expected it to be much cleaner. There was dog hair throughout the bedrooms, including on the sheets, bugs inside the refrigerator, scratches/scuff marks on the walls, and what appeared to be mold or mildew in the cracks around the bathtub/shower.There were also several maintenance and safety concerns: some lights didn’t work, the hallway fire alarm was hanging off the ceiling, one room was missing a fire alarm entirely, and the master bedroom door was difficult to open and close.Host communication was disappointing due to delayed responses when I needed assistance. The TV in the master bedroom barely worked (stuck on Netflix only, with a taped remote).The listing also did not mention that someone was living on the property. They did not bother us, but that should absolutely be disclosed upfront. There were also clothes in the closet, so I didn’t feel comfortable using the space to hang my birthday dress.Lastly, the master bedroom only had a thin sheet and two small blankets, which were not enough to keep me or my partner warm.The home has potential, but the cleanliness, maintenance, safety concerns, and lack of disclosure made the stay disappointing.
