WHAT A NIGHTMARE!!! DON'T STAY HERE!!! We are a family of 6. 5 adults and one 7 year old child with disabilities. It was a family reunion we had planned for 6 months. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon at 1:30 pm. They did a precheck registration on us. All the front desk staff seem confused and disoriented and clueless when we approached them later on around check in time for our room status. Finally, after much deliberation by front desk employees, our room was assigned to us. We carted all our luggage and groceries for our two week stay to our unit. Mind you, there is no elevator at this resort. (Dont know how this commercial building code was not enforced). You have to tackle multiple steps up and down to reach your unit. There are no ADA ramps for handicapped guests. There are no flat luggage carts to put your suitcases on in order to roll them to your unit. There are no bellboys or girlboys or valet service.There is no parking or unloading zone for guests. So we finally reach our unit, unpack, and get settled in for our 2 week family reunion stay at Park Royal Club Cala. We turn up the AC. After an hour or so, it is still hot in the unit. A call was made to the front desk. Resolution : "we will move you to another unit and have staff help you move there." All 5 of us adults begin the move. 3 of who are senior citizens with health issues. We spent hours of our personal vacation time getting resettled in the new unit. All in all, it took 4 to 6 hours to get situated.

CONS: No elevator (we have a baby/toddler so lots to bring up and down!) $25/night parking - when she told me $75 this is for private parking I asked if there was anywhere else she said no. There was a lot 2 mins down the road that’s free! The AC was very loud in the unit- not sure why They put knives in the bottom drawer (smh) The door to the balcony didn’t lock (only an issue bc we have a toddler) PROS: Huge unit to stay in Clean Pool was great They have shuttles and the staff there is amazing! Will show you around the area Would stay again, would request a ground level unit

Room was pretty great. My biggest suggestion would be to install faucets that regulate how much water comes out at once. The pressure was beyond incredible, but hot water runs out extremely quick. The shower curtain also did a terrible job of containing water from escaping the shower. At one point, around 5:30PM, I’d called the front desk for new bath towels and was told some would be sent up. By 5:45, nothing, so I went to the front desk to ask. They claimed I hadn’t called and said they then put in the request. At 6, I called again at which point they said the towels were outside our room, which was not true. We finally got towels delivered around 6:15, which made us late to the pool for a drink (which said they closed at 6, even though the pamphlet shows 19:00, or 7PM). All in all, decent stay. The fact that the towel cabana and bars close so early seems silly for a resort, especially when people explore the island during the day. It’d be nice to get to the hotel for a drink, but that was impossible.

The view was absolutely beautiful from our patio and the room was very clean and comfortable. The living room sliding door should have a thick curtain for privacy like the bedroom. Also staff at check in should offer to help with the luggage since we had to help some older guests to carry their luggage up the stairs to their room because they did not think to ask for help and no one offered. We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful resort!!

We needed new sheets the day we arrived due to the ones provided were still with sand and dust. When housekeeping brought the new ones the woman wasn't too amicable about bringing new sheets. The bed also caused my wife to itch at night. The power went out at least once every 2 days for less then an hour (I blame LUMA for that). There is a cold spot on the bottom of the stairs which condenses the moisture creating a slip hazard, we figured a towel would suffice but it should be looked into. The room had 2 lightbulbs that didnt work one in the couch and the other on the balcony, the rest were dim and worn out. The front desk staff are super nice and helpful. They handled all of our questions and requests with attention to detail and a smile.

Master Room had a broken toilet lid. The A/C was not able to be changed so the rooms were either too hot (if you turned it off) or too cold because we couldn’t adjust it. Pool closed early and there wasn’t anyone at the swim up bar. Restaurants close too early too for those site seeing and getting back late.
