I recently stayed at Modern Sultan Hotel in Istanbul, and it was a wonderful experience overall. The breakfast was excellent, with many options to choose from every morning, a great way to start the day. The location is absolutely unbeatable. It’s incredibly walkable to all the major attractions, Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar, the ferry terminals, everything is close by. Even with a 4-year-old, we were able to walk comfortably to almost all the places we wanted to visit. The convenience of the location is truly one of the hotel’s biggest strengths. One thing to note is that the hotel does not have an elevator, so you’ll need to use the stairs. We stayed on the 5th floor, so it was a bit tiring at times, but honestly not a deal breaker, the stay and location made up for it. There are also multiple dine-in options nearby, making meals easy and enjoyable. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel. Great breakfast, amazing walkable location, and a comfortable stay right in the heart of Istanbul.

This is an older hotel so no lift but it's right next to everything! Walking distance to blue Mosque, topkapi palace, you can see the Hagia Sophia from your windows. The T1 tram stop at gulhane is 1 minute walk as is gulhane park. Easy access to public transit you can be anywhere in the city in around an hour and a half (yes even the airports)

Friendly and helpful staff who are knowledgeable of Istanbul. They gave loads of tips and advice regarding best mode of travel. I was shocked at how close the main tourist attractions are. The tram is only 2 mins away and there are many local convenient stores and eateries available on foot. Breakfast was ok but we had no time to enjoy it as there's so much to do. Towels were changed daily, hot water always available. We were on the top floor with a view of the Hagia Sophia which was amazing, there's no lift so be aware. Fridge in the room was handy to store water bottles. The call to prayer can be heard clearly from the room, the night was quiet, some music can be heard from next door but all quiet after midnight. My stay in Istanbul was magical and the hotel were part of that.

This is a small hotel right next to the Hagia Sophia you can actually see it from your window. So it's super convenient and walkable to all the major sites: blue mosque, Hagia Sophia, topkapi palace, Bsilica cisterns, grand Bazaar you name it. Staff is helpful and goes out if their way to care for you. They helped set me up with a sim card for my older phone.

The Modern Sultan Hotel is in a great central spot for a great price. It is boutique, has a lot of character yet has the amenities you need. A large shower, good working AC, and very walkable. I see the Aya Sofia outside our window. The staff are exceptionally friendly, and the free breakfast is exactly enough to start the day. 24 hour coffee and tea is also available at your service, and they have a nice front porch to sit and enjoy it! I would recommend if you are looking for something different than the typical hotel; a unique experience for sure.

The rooms are large, and ornate, but lacking in maintenance. The air conditioning did not work, fittings were loose, or did not work. The staff were lazy, on their phones all the time. Breakfast poor, a cling flim covered plate of cheese, tomato, pink meat of some kind, but plenty of bread.

The staff was amazing. They treated us like part of their family. They were very helpful in finding us private transportation as I was traveling with elderly parents.
