The breakfast was fresh with a good selection of breads, cheese, butter, and fruits. To cater to guests from different regions, they could consider adding English breakfast items and some Asian dishes. The staff was excellent; Nahib, Onur, Ramazan, and Fatih were excellent communicators, attentive, and friendly. Regarding the hotel policy, there is a 30 Euro guest fee for more than two people to visit you in the room, because, hotel doesn't have visitor place to sit and talk in lobby. it may be foreign girlfriend, travel friends, escorts, pub meeting friends- which is kind of unusual . in many countries visiting doesn't cost even they been taken into hotel room. Although not mandatory, we were informed that we needed to pay for guests to visit our rooms, which the hotel stated was their policy's . i said its ok to pay for 30 euro. I don't value the money. i want my guest need to be treated well. i definitely recommend this hotel if you are traveler, limited to two guest.

I rarely write negative reviews, but this experience warrants it. From the moment I arrived, the service was underwhelming. Staff seemed disinterested and unresponsive to basic requests, which set the tone for the rest of the stay. The cleanliness of the room was far below acceptable standards — dusty surfaces, stained linens, and a bathroom that clearly hadn’t been properly cleaned. Housekeeping was inconsistent and often skipped entirely. Noise was another major issue. Whether it was thin walls, loud guests, or street traffic, restful sleep was nearly impossible. I raised concerns, but they were brushed off without resolution. For the price paid, I expected far better. The amenities were outdated, the atmosphere chaotic, and the overall experience frustrating. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone seeking comfort, cleanliness, or decent service.

Great location, but a bit awkward

The location is great, the included buffet breakfast was nice but not great for vegans (some days better than others, nothing labeled). There is a fridge in the room but it is inside an un-vented cupboard which gets very hot so the fridge doesn't work. Blankets were just sheets and the bed was quite hard. The hotel room seemed like it was designed by someone who has never stayed in a hotel. Staff were generally lovely and helpful when they could. There was one odd incident on our first night when we were on the main balcony taking a few pictures of the skyline and the man who checked us in a few hours prior confronted us seeming to think we were tourists wandering in off the street - it was odd and uncomfortable (he was a bit aggressive at first) but he was apologetic when he realised the mistake. Nice enough, but just generally a little odd.

Stayed in Nordstern Hotel Galata in August 2025. Hotel room offered ample space, was clean, bed was comfortable, and wi-fi was reliable. Hotel is located near Galata Tower, about a 5 minute walk from hotel. This location is perfectly located near main locations, without being overly crowded. Hotel has an amazing rooftop area where breakfast is offered, after breakfast area remains accessible if you need somewhere to relax and enjoy a stunning city view. The Staff are hands down the best! Super friendly and always available for any questions or requests. Shout out to Ramajan and Nijat! If you would like recommendations to the best food or attraction spots, these fine gentlemen are more than happy to put you on to some local spots! I also booked their airport shuttle service and it is honestly so worth it. Communication on meet up location was clear and driver arrived on time, Ramajan & Nijat also made sure to follow up with me regarding my return shuttle to the airport. This was such a peace of mind. 10/10 highly recommend.

Awful experience. Broken toilet. Rude staff. Plaster coming off the walls. A/C not working. Coffee machine not working at breakfast buffet. We had a terrible experience at this hotel. Toilet broke, staff didn't fix it, we come back to a room that hadn't been serviced. We were downgraded to a smaller room, there the A/C was not working there, super hot summer. Tried the breakfast buffet, stale bread, coffee machine out of order, staff didn't want to fix it, they didn't care and said "Drink tea". Same attitude at the front desk, nobody wanted to help. They kept saying "we don't have a record of your request to fix these issues in your room". Different staff shift blaming each other. Manager never present and refused to speak with us (and expedia customer service) over the phone. I will never stay there again. this is worse than a hostel. Should not be listed on Expedia and most definitely, this hotel does not meet VIP access criteria. Istanbul is a beautiful city, plenty of good hotels in this area. Don't stay at the Nordstern.

This hotel with amazing views and location where I stayed for two nights on there room 401 where is a nice room with balcony but! A big but, when they gave me the room AC was off and room was hot they told me it will cool down, I left for several hours and thinking it will be perfectly cold but coming back it was barely cold, told this to reception multiple times, they were overall very good to communicate but the problem of this rooms ac (although seems like a central ac system which I looked for before I booked) was not performing normally and needed repair. I kindly asked for a sensible refund of the portion of my stay. Still haven’t heard back anything. I wouldn’t stay there again because they basically gamble and give you a room, expecting the guests to eat up all the problems of the rooms/stay.

At one end of the Galata Bridge the hotel is very well located - with easy access to modern and ancient parts of the city, and easy reach to tram (outside the front door) and ferry services. The front door was, however, rather inconspicuous. A hearty traditional breakfast was provided on the roof terrace which had a wonderful view. My room had a partial sea view of the Galata bridge and Hagia Sophia and was very quiet despite the busy location. Seyfullah and other staff were very helpful.

Fantastic Istanbul

Low water pressure in the shower, toilet seat was broken, dusty curtains, mediocre breakfast. I didn’t like to see the gentleman at breakfast cleaning the counter with the same mop that he used to clean the floor. At breakfast you feel like you are being supervised by the above mentioned gentleman. The location is fantastic and the view from the terrace is amazing, close to the tram and the street food . I liked that there was always coffee and tea available at the terrace. It’s a bit noisy but I still would recommend this place.

Location is convenient: next to the Galata Bridge (shops, restaurants and the Galata Tower on one side, all the big monuments and museums on the other side). It is a bit noisy. The rooms look great, although cleaning can be improved. One day the drainage of the shower wasn’t working, the next day there was no hot water. These are the basics of hotels, which didn’t work. The old guy at the reception said that he knew that there was no hot water, but he was probably too proud to apologize. The younger personnel was friendly and very helpful.
