This place completely exceeded my expectations! 🌺 The food here is so underrated — every dish was amazing. Huge thanks to the chef! The breakfast veggie Benedict, poke bowl, and ahi sandwich were all perfection (omgeee, so good!). The veggie salads were fresh and crisp, and the complimentary mai tai was an unexpected hit. 🍹 The little lagoon added such a quaint, relaxing vibe — we loved every moment here!

Nice, reasonably priced rooms with great ocean views. Nice pool and loungers. Hotel is right on shoreline with waves crashing and beautiful sunsets. Food and drinks at Don's Mai Tai onsite are good with beautiful oceanside dining. Current construction on one of buildings is a bit loud but only during day time and we were usually gone sightseeing. Easy walk to shopping and other restaurants. Fun to see and hear laua from our room.

Mi primera noche me encontre con cucarachas en mi cuarto y lo unico que me contesto el staff cuando fui al front desk: i hate when that happens, do you want to get the room fumigated? el gym tuvo la misma basura y arena por dias, no lo limpian diario a pesar de que las maquinas son buenas, el tiempo de espera para ser sentado en el desyauno es absurdo. Sin embargo tiene una ubicacion privilegiada y fuera las cucarachas housekeeping hacia un buen trabajo y la gente es amable.

It’s kind of old Hawai’i vs the big resorts out of town. Great location and you can walk to everything. Has an excellent bar with awesome views. Didn’t care for the restaurant for dinner but immediately adjacent, like a 2 minute walk, is a great restaurant

First time staying here and this property did not disappoint! The hotels location was perfect. It was nearby lots of dinning and shopping options. The views from the pool and restaurant were amazing. Wonderful rooms, hotel itself is a bit outdated but looks like they’re working on updates currently. Great location to a bunch of shops and food in town, no need to drive to any of those. All walkable. Beaches aren’t too far 20-40 in either directions for a white sand beach

We stayed at the bay building it’s pretty old but compared to the building where the front desk are located. Safebox not working. It’s clean and had a good soft pillows which is very important after a long flight. The front desk lady when we check in wasn’t very pleasant, no good customer service personality. We checked in at around 2 pm Sept 20 but overall dining other front desk assistants and our housekeeping service are good.

Don’t think you’re gonna relax by the pool here unless the constant screaming sound of a jackhammer is soothing to you. Not a lot of aloha from staff. Lots of homeless and sketchy people in town. Have been to Kona many times and the vibe has definitely changed.

Honestly loved everything about Royal Kona Resort only thing I didnt like is that they closed the pool at 6pm because they dont have any lights in the pool area. Sucks Because were on vacation so we want to be in those pool areas till later on in the night
