Extremely dated property has not been updated since the original construction. The bathtubs are for very small people not by any standards that you find today in modern hotels. Concrete repair is constantly underway on some of the buildings as the concrete is deteriorating from the sea spray. The staff is friendly and helpful. The restaurant and bar is quite comfortable and the food is good.

We booked a 4-night stay but left after only 1 night due to a roach infestation. One was even found crawling on my sister’s luggage. Although we were moved to another room, the thought of roaches in the building made it impossible to stay. The hotel is outdated, overpriced, and far from the standards expected at this cost. We’ve been to Hawaii more than 10 times and I’m aware that roaches are common but not inside the hotel room. This is absolutely unacceptable and disgusting experience.

This place completely exceeded my expectations! 🌺 From the food to the setting to the staff, everything was top-notch. Food: The food here is so underrated, honestly, the best I had in Kona. Huge thanks to the chef, because every dish was perfection. I started with the tuna poke nachos, then tried the veggie Benedict for breakfast, and had the seared tuna burger with sweet potato fries three days in a row (yes, it was that good!). The ahi sandwich, poke bowl, and coconut shrimp were also amazing. And the farm-to-table style salads with liliko‘i dressing? Unforgettable. I wish they sold that dressing in bottles! Location & Ambiance: The resort has a wonderful atmosphere with its own private lagoon full of colorful fish and crabs, so peaceful and fun to explore. The location is perfect, within walking distance of town, shops, and restaurants. When needed, Uber rides were quick and easy. I also loved the quaint lagoon views while sipping on the complimentary mai tai (such a nice surprise!). Rooms: I stayed in a double-bed room with a partial ocean view. The room was spacious, had a refrigerator, and the provided amenities (shampoo, conditioner, etc.) were actually better than the ones I brought. The big balcony was perfect for enjoying the ocean breeze and sounds of the waves. Yes, there’s ongoing renovation, so you may hear some machinery during the day, but it honestly wasn’t a nuisance. The hotel was wonderful! The rooms are a little old, but nice. The beds were not as comfortable as we would like. We reserved a partial ocean view room with a balcony and we had a great view of the bay. I liked our view better than a full ocean view. Food was very good and service was great. We attended the luau! We paid the extra for VIP at the luau. Well worth the price.

Mediocre hotel especially for the price. Needs a serious renovation. Also, the restaurant was blasting a football game at an obnoxiously high volume at 8:30am during breakfast when most patrons wanted to enjoy the sound of the ocean. I asked our waiter if he could request the bar turn down the volume a bit and he said no because it was “football Sunday”. Only two people were watching the game at the bar, the rest of the people were completely disinterested. I don’t see the need to blast a football game at high volume early in the morning when most people want to enjoy their breakfast in peace.
