Starting with the positive: The view and setting were lovely. It was very peaceful. The house has a great view of the river. The negative: Terrible communication. The host never provided check in or check out information and didn't respond to messages. They didn't provide a phone number, but VRBO gave me their phone number after the VRBO agent called repeatedly and got hung up on. They were about to try to find us a different place to stay since we didn't know how to get in, when finally someone answered and gave us the code. They also didn't respond to messages about checking out. There was no information at the house either, so we had to ask the neighbors if we were able to use the nearest boat ramp. The house was surface-level clean, except there were cobwebs in the corner, a nasty coffee pot, and dust and filth underneath the beds. The downstairs bedrooms, bathroom and common areas all have concrete floors with no rugs. There is no where to put clothes or personal items in the rooms -- nowhere to hang anything, no dressers, etc so we all had suitcases on the floors. Two of the rooms bedside lamps' bulbs didn't work. The kitchen had no towels or dishrags. There is NOT a screened-in porch as pictured and described. There is a porch but no screen. There is a nice fire pit with no seating whatsoever, not even any lawnchairs or patio chairs you can drag over, so bring your own chairs if you want to be able to sit around a fire.
