The location was good for visiting Kings Canyon NP since we couldn’t get reservations at Grant Village. The staff were great and check in was easy. They were friendly and helpful. The lodge had only been open for the season for a few days. Breakfast is included in room rate. However, it was pretty basic and they ran out of some items 30 minutes before mealtime was over with no replenishment and no one available to ask for additional items. We recognized the facility was built in 1940, but the walls were so thin we could hear everything from the room beside us as if they were in our room. There was no hot water for taking a shower the first night, but this was resolved the following day. All this could have been because of the recent reopening. That said, the lodge is in a great location. It’s a good low-end lodging option-very basic but overpriced.

Great Location

Staff was awesome. Room was good but bathroom floor was dirty. The best part was staying inside the park and being able to wander around at night to see starry skies.

Stony Creek is a charming small lodge located in the beautiful Sequoia National Forest. It is an older facility but is well maintained and clean. The staff was excellent and attentive to our needs. Though there is a short drive to the main sights in Sequoia National Park, it is away from the crowds and is more affordable than other options in the area. Free breakfast included! We enjoyed our stay there very much!
