Everything was amazing. Location fantastic.. From the staff who welcomed us on arrival to the team at breakfast, the staff are the best, they helped us with restaurant recommendations and reservations, to things to see and do. Out Japanese bedroom was gorgeous, the onsite onsen is lovely to use first thing in the morning The breakfast is so delicious with so much choice. They even have a laundry room here where you can do your own washing and drying. Brilliant hotel.

Great location near Main Street but set back enough to be quiet. Room was very quiet. Super comfortable beds. Nice deep bathtub. Breakfast was fantastic- so much variety. To name just a few: miso soup, salmon, yogurt, eggs, pastries, fried rice, plain rice, make your own noodle soup, cereal, pickled cabbage, natto, bread. Only complaint was coffee wasn’t the best, and would have liked brewed tea instead of tea bags.

Located conveniently to the Gion district of Kyoto, a relatively short walk to Kiyomizu-dera, and also Pontocho and the modern heart of Kyoto. Big, comfortable beds, and modern meets old world style. In-site onsen and bar, what more could you want?

Location is very good, 1 min away from the main shopping street with all the good shops, especially for Wagashi. However, room was some kind of small “studio flat” -like with the bed stuck at the end, only accessible from the front. All in all, it was great, but room didn’t make me feel cosy enough.

This place has gone downhill in general hospitality and some things have suffered physically. The staff is terrible and rules based and tries to charge for everything. Asking for extra towels is met with shock. The laundry room is extremely dirty and the dryers don’t work very well causing backups. It’s a beautiful place but upkeep and behavior is half-energy. I got a deal under $100 and based on my experience that was a value. Anything 1.5 times that I’d say look into other options. New management is needed.

AMAZING hotel in Kyoto. This hotel was by far my favorite from my stay in Japan. I love the design and features. I really liked the peaceful vibes for the Japanese style room, and the traditional Japanese breakfast was amazing. Thank you for making my short stay in Kyoto so memorable.
