This property was completely remodeled over the last couple of years. We love BirdRock, so treated ourselves to a staycation (we live in SanDiego). They did a really nice job, room was spacious, elevator was a good size capacity. All around, very comfortable. We booked a 2nd floor king, and we ended up with a two bedroom as a bonus. Very reasonable pricing for the location. Would stay again and wouldn’t hesitate sending out of town guests there. The only thing I wish they would do is in-room coffee pods (think Keurig). They did have some coffee/tea in the lobby and there is Bird Rock Coffee Roasters and Starbucks just down the street. Thank you!

Charming Modern Inn - Bird Rock (La Jolla/PB)

Property was nice, clean and the service was great. Nice quiet location in a charming neighborhood. I appreciated the nice modern design and unconventional details. Only recommendation I would make is to add a full mirror to the room for dressing purposes. Could mount it to the back of the door or on one of the walls.

First room was 102 but only a shower curtain that is too high from floor and when taking a shower all the water splashes on floor and is very slippery. Room 102 was next to pool which is very noisy because it is open to 10:30pm. Then moved to room 306 but housekeeping didn’t make up the room and doesn’t speak English or understand English when I asked for it . Many defects staying here and is in a very busy street which is nosy at night Got moved to room 306

This was a great little motel in La Jolla. It was clean and comfortable with several very good restaurants and coffee shops within easy walking distance. My only complaint was that you could easily hear guests in other rooms, especially those above us.

Very clean and quiet. Nice neighborhood with coffee, dining and groceries within walking distance. Enjoyed our stay, but it is not beachfront. No view or sound of waves. Would definitely stay again for the price. Close to Pacific Beach, Mission Beach and La Jolla Caves.
