Here’s a version that’s under the 1,500-character limit while still covering the key issues: We specifically booked this property starting the night before our arrival because our flight landed at 5:00 a.m. We expected a clean, ready-to-use accommodation, but that was not what we received. When we arrived, there was a strong odor, the unit had clearly not been cleaned, the trash had not been taken out, the floors were dirty, the bathroom was unclean, and dirty dishes were left in the kitchen. There was also no running water, no toilet paper, and no hand soap. We immediately contacted the host. While the water issue was fixed and toilet paper was eventually delivered, the promised cleaning did not happen until the following day. We lost the first day of our stay waiting for the unit to be brought to a basic standard of cleanliness. The biggest issue was the cockroaches. We found several dead ones upon arrival, then repeatedly encountered live cockroaches in the kitchen and bathroom every day of our stay. By the end, they had even gotten into our clothes and shoes. We have photos documenting this. Although the host responded after we complained, these issues should have been resolved before check-in. A vacation rental should be clean, sanitary, and fully prepared upon arrival. Unfortunately, this property did not meet those expectations, and we would not recommend staying here.
