Disappointing but adequate
Very disappointing.
Location is good - walking distance from train and central for shops/dining etc.
The condition of the property is very poor. The steps from the road to the front door are lethal. The stone needs cleaning to prevent it being slippery in the wet, but worse than that is the slab at the bottom of the steps is so loose it 'jumps up' if you step near the edge.
There was broken glass and rubbish at the entrance over 2 days, so clearly the property isn't checked daily.
Internal condition is weak. There was mould in the bathroom and missing tiles next to the bath. Many of the walls are stained and the rug and sofa have unpleasant stains too. No effort appears to have been made to deep clean the flat.
The internal doors are all fire doors which I understand is necessary but the auto close bars are so tense it takes all your strength to push the door open and they slam shut which I have no doubt has disturbed the neighbours.
Noise from the upstairs loft is significant. If you stay, I hope you get more considerate neighbours.
Beds were comfy and linen was clean.
Kitchen was reasonable well equipped. Disappointed after making a cafetiere of coffee I found the spout on the jug was chipped.
My confirmation email mentioned parking so I tried to check if this was the case by email the day before arrival. No response until 5pm on the day of arrival. As I hadn't heard when I checked in I called the number provided and got no reply or call back.
