“Madragoa" is one of the most traditional “bairros” (neighborhoods) in the city, and its name derives from the once existent Convent of the Mothers of Goa.
As time went by, it evolved. During the 18th to 19th century, Madragoa was famous for its fishing industry, which was the primary source of income for most of its residents. Today, however, located just a 15-minute walk from the vibrant city center, the district became very appealing, serving as host to a number of facilities.
What’s most surprising about Madragoa though, is that although it is located close to modern establishments like shopping malls and entertainment avenues, it still managed to keep many of its authentic features, including the incredibly narrow streets and very small houses along the way.
However, while the district is known to have preserved its authentic attractions, it is also home to many modern facilities, including entertainment venues for those looking for a vibrant nightlife. Madragoa area plays host to a number of restaurants that serve authentic Portuguese food. Among the most well-known restaurants in the area are the A Travessa, Varina da Madragoa, Kalashnikov, and Clube dos Jornalistas. Die Unterkunft ist gut gelegen. Leider war das hintere Schlafzimmer nicht nutzbar, da hinten direkt eine große U-Bahnbaustelle ist, wo auch nachts gebaut wird, was zu viel Lärm und grelles Licht zur Folge hat. Dadurch haben wir als zwei Paare mit jeweils einem Kleinkind in den vorderen Räumen übernachtet. Beide Schlafcouches sind aufgrund der Größe dafür nur bedingt geeignet. Das Schlafzimmer ist ein innenliegender Raum, der sehr klein ist und man die Tür offen lassen muss, da sonst zumindest zu dritt die Luft zu schlecht wird, auch so war es sehr stickig. Insgesamt ist die Unterkunft nur zu empfehlen, wenn man mit maximal 4 Personen ist.

Insgesamt fehlen in der Wohnung entsprechende Kühlmöglichkeiten(z.B. Klimaanlage) für heisse Tage. Die Ventilatoren reichen nicht aus, in der Küche kann man nicht alle Fenster öffnen und ein Sonnenschutz fehlt dort ebenfalls. Es wäre auch schön gewesen, wenn man auf die Baustelle vor dem einen Schlafzimmer hingewiesen hätte.Ebenfalls war die Erklärung in der Wohnungsmappe zur Müllentsorgung sehr ungenau. Diese Punkte könnte man vielleicht verbessern.MfG V.Breuer

Prima woning
Schone, ruime woning, prima keuken, lekkere stoel en bank om te luieren. Bed is ook prima. Geen airco. Voor deze locatie moet je wel goed ter been zijn om er te komen (maar dat geldt voor heel Lissabon!). Het ligt aan de rand van het Barrio Alto, 10 min lopen van het metrostation; 30 min naar de grote boulevard. Genoeg eettenten in de omgeving en een Minipreço op 5 minuten lopen. Wij hebben het er goed gehad.
