It’s conveniently located near the train station, making it a suitable option if you’re only looking for a place to crash for the night. However, the rooms are quite small and the prices are a bit steep. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless you absolutely have no other choice and plan to sleep the night and move on. I’m not sure if this is a common issue in London or just a problem with this particular place. So, please don’t take my word for it. Do your research and see if you can find a better option.

Very close to Kings Cross on a nice square. The bed was awful as was the bedding I got very little sleep due to poorly fitting sheets bunched up beneath me. Quilt similarly bad. Room very hot but windows could be opened. Shower temperature control broken so only scalding water came out. Gap in door let corridor bright light through further preventing sleep. Lots of hoodie types hanging around the vicinity with strong smell of cannabis. Never again!

The location is fantastic and the staff were friendly. We were unable to get a second key, but the staff made note of who we were and were able to let us in without the key if we came back separately. My only complaints are that the quarters are a bit tight and the bathroom door was rather hard to close (I felt like I might rip the doorknob off each time I closed that door).

Argyle Square Hotel Bring your flippers, what a shocking place, when you enter there’s an air of damp, walk along the corridor and it gets worse. Once in our ‘comfort’ room, complete with ‘free’ toiletries (4 tiny sachets of shower gel and a slim bar of soap) the walls were stained brown, the window pushed open and not close-able, with the window blow it blown. The towels had old well washed in stains. We were busy and just needed a bed which was comfortable enough, and so late at night we’ve stayed. Overnight it rained and this morning the brown stains on the wall are worse, there’s little clothing hang - it’s off a high rail above the tea and coffee making facilities so not ideal. Getting out of bed we stood in water, not from the window but coming up through the laminate floor under the bed! There was a very large puddle on the floor, 2/3 the size of a bed! Getting dressed we have checked out and advised the reception desk who seemed blasé about the water and our uncomfortable early morning paddle. It was obviously something they have experienced before because there was no surprise. This is a budget hotel but isn’t actually a safe place to stay, the laminated floor when wet was slippery, our clothes were damp and our sleep mediocre

Overnight stay in basement family room after a west end show. Room was clean and tidy. Shower was small but functional, with good water temperature and flow. The location was quiet, and the beds comfortable, so had a good nights sleep. Staff were very helpful.

Good points firstly, there were shops just down the road, walking distance, no need to jump on a bus. Wifi was good, strong, quick to get onto internet. Staff were helpful. Bad points Oh Dear me!! I felt cramped, claustrophobic!! Room was far too small, was like a dorm bedroom, not a hotel room. Even bathroom was far too tiny, and for the price I thought I’d be getting decent sized room. On hotels.com , false advertising, looked bigger than it actually was. 1/10 for size!!
