Copthorne Tara provides very affordable accommodation in a really nice part of London easily accessible from Kensington High Street Tube which is only the 3rd stop from Paddington. The hotel is large and comfortable, I would describe the decor as a little dated but perfectly ok. The staff are very helpful and there are plenty of them in the busy reception area. The elevators are a bit of a nightmare on two occasions that we’ve stayed there a couple have been out of order and they seem to have a mind of their own, stairs are an option but not if you’re on the eleventh floor and you have luggage. Also a little disappointed with the bar closing at midnight, whilst there is a self-service bar in reception, the hard chairs and relative darkness of this area did not make it welcoming. We only wanted a quiet drink after returning from a show, and this (in my opinion) was not a good option, for a hotel if this size and location the bar should be open until at least 0100. The breakfast was great, lots of choice and veggie options on request. I would definitely stay here again, in fact I’m booked in again in March. On the whole a nice, comfortable hotel in a nice accessible part of London.

Great stay, our tv wasn't working and they sent someone up straight away to sort it. Lovely atmosphere and areas to eat. All the staff were friendly and keen to help wherever they could

We found only 1 chair in double room the staff were helpful also the guy near door who git us ataxi room was clean and we got good side away from trains easy to get to tube station

Ok, not great.

We were only there one night but the hotel is very dated, the rooms are in need of an overhaul. Have marked cleanliness down as the sink in the bathroom wouldn’t drain. Also, car parking spaces are very small!

The room was very cold - the heating was only blowing out cold air. I reported this to reception twice and was promised that it would be sorted out but nothing was done. I then asked for a different room which I was given.

Hotel is clean, restaurant offering is good, really enjoyed bujis. Overall hotel is little dated but well positioned and good value for location. Disapointments were the number of lifts out of service causing long waits at peak times. Also when checking in there was a queue of new guests and only one receptionist which took an age. In the fitness room no cups in the water dispenser Exercise bike not fully working and cross trainer in need of service. All that said I am likely to book again as locations suits my needs and budget

You get what you pay for

The hotel is lovely and I have stayed before on several occasions but I have always upgraded my room. This stay I had the standard room and it was very poor with the wallpaper peeling off the bed was like concrete and the heater did not work. If I ever go back I would have to upgrade the room choice. I have stayed in better travelodge rooms

The hotel was nice but the rooms were very tiered and out dated. Car park was good. Check in was good. The Breakfast was fine and at a sensible time. Bathrooms defiantly need updating as shower head just dribbled out.
