You get what you pay for

London hotels are very expensive. This was no exception. The room was very clean but stifling on a hot night. Opening the window added noise but didn’t cool the room. The full English breakfast was adequate. The hotel was well maintained, but looked like its last update was in the 1950s

The staff are very friendly and welcoming, nothing is a hassle, the property is immaculate, serves a tasty breakfast and is perfectly situated for train and bus services - 3 minute walk to Paddington Station, 3 minute walk to buses and Hyde Park - BST Hyde Park gigs entrance about 5-10 minute walk and feels safe. Thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Location was perfect and all the staff were great. Plenty to see and do within walking distance and great restaurants. Breakfast was very good. The property is old and rooms, condition dated. Bathroom was very small and needed some tlc. Accommodation was clean but tired.

The people there were very nice but the hotel is very dated and small and the beds were pushed together and it felt like the doors were flimsy and there was no deadbolt on them. Everywhere we went you needed to take the circle line which was unreliable and dirty (not the fault of the hotel obviously!) It's a great budget hotel but if you want anything more than a place to lay your head you may want to look around a bit.

Family run gem with affordability in London

This hotel is a great value. The location, near Paddington, offers easy access to the sites as well as numerous restaurants nearby. The rooms are small but breakfast is included and everything is clean. And the staff is lovely. We were there during a heat wave and they put out cold water and ice for us! There’s no AC but I was just fine with the fan even though it was in the 90s.

This hotel is in a great location and is easy to get to from Paddington. The staff were very nice and the included full English breakfast is a great add on! The room was very crowded and hot. There were a lot of things that didn't need to be in the room that perhaps would have been better upon request - like a huge tea set taking up most of the table. There were power outlets only on one side of the bed and the bed was uncomfortably close to the bathroom door. The bathroom did not have any conditioner and the hair dryer did not work.

Old English hotel charm. The property is faded but the staff is fabulous. It’s also convenient to Paddington and places to eat. Stayed there for a night every few years because it is safe, friendly and convenient.

Loved this place for the one night I needed it. Excellent location and it felt safe walking around late at night. My room was basically a closet, but I didn't need much. Highly recommend as it was great value for the price with lots of restaurants around.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is very convenient and close to the Paddington Station with lots of shops and restaurants around. However, the hotel is quite outdated and rooms are too small. The cancellation policy is no refund no matter what the circumstance. There is no air conditioning in the rooms and the breakfast is rather terrible. lol

The front desk and breakfast room staff were very courteous and helpful. The breakfast was average, but satisfying. It's an old hotel that looks tired and in need of sprucing up. The mattress is old and needs to be replaced. The absence of a room air-conditioner resulted in an uncomfortably hot room at night. Note that the windows couldn't be opened.
