The good things about this hotel are: walking distance to The British Museum and easy connection to major bus routes. This is a very basic hotel. There is no AC. In the middle of the night we heard significant scratching noises behind our television. We reported it and whatever it was either was found or never came out again. The bathtub is slippery and put us all in fall-risk so be careful climbing out. The hotel staff is undertrained, rude, and uninterested in helping customers. You can tell they are unhappy to be working there. Also the hotel seriously needs to add sitting areas in the lobbies as countless children were just sitting on the floor (there was a rugby match). I believe this was to encourage people to sit in one of the restaurants.

Much, much better value than other big name hotels in the area. Convenient walk from Euston station. I didn’t have the breakfast so can’t comment on that. At the price, no complaints.

Carbunkle

The TV didnt work in the room, not that i was bothered by that but just saying. I was initially refused a second keycard for a guest to visit for an hour on the morning of departure but asked another staff member and it got sorted. Breakfast was decent enough. The entrance and foyer are unwelcoming and a bit weird as it doesnt front the road. Its hard to actually know if you have reached the hotel. Reception was busy at times with checking in and could do with more staff at peak times. Once checked in you then have to go outside again and cross the square to get to a diffrent block if your room is located there. Its just bonkers and i won't be staying there again. Monsterous amount of rooms in a open square carbunkle of a building.

This hotel was good for what we needed, but definitely not the best hotel we’ve ever stayed in. No AC, so the room got blistering hot on a normal temp night and if you opened the window for some airflow the traffic was so loud - especially over the weekend, so we didn’t sleep very well. Also check-in was awful, the lines were insane at 9pm, like nothing I’ve seen before with hotel check-in and it just too far too long a wait for what should be an easy process. It was a budget hotel, and clean and comfortable, but did have its downsides.

Worse check-in process I’ve experienced in London.

The rooms and general hotel is fine. However the check in process is terrible. Long queues, more staff standing around than checking people in. Zero apology for 30 minutes waiting in line. Twice asked for my passport despite being a British citizen And not requiring it. Staff could hardly understand me and had no care at all about the length of wait time . The photo is at 11.20pm. Awful experience.
