Daughter took ill (not hotel's fault!) &when I rang reception at 12am-there was no answer until I rang the external hotel number, as I really needed replacement sheets &blanket. I was initially told to come down &out via the external street to reception to get them - as a lone parent that would've meant trailing my young ill child out OR leaving her alone in the room in the dark as the keycard was needed for me to get in the bottom doors! So I pushed for reception man to bring sheets to me. When he arrived, I was told I'd interrupted his prayer &there were no duvets....despite being midweek &having 2buildings of rooms. When I asked for a laundry/black bag for dirty linen i was told to leave it in the room-but the smell was making us worse- so i was told to leave it in a small enclosed hall outside mine &2 other rooms or in the stairwell - very unhygienic &unsafe. The gentleman DID later return with bin bags &he found a blanket which i appreciated. In the morning, I requested 11.30 checkout instead of 10.30 &reception kindly agreed to let the cleaning team know however at 10.10 (BEFORE the regular checkout a lady burst into the room WITHOUT knocking despite us being in there. She was rude when I explained the late checkout reason &argued it wasn't acceptable, checkout was 10.30 as she had rooms to clean (this was 10.10!!) &left my daughter &I shocked & upset to top off an already stressful night.
