The property would be a 5 if it weren't for the noise. It was close to everything and the staff was friendly. The problem was noise. Our room faced the street and was over the bar, every noise from the bar carried up into the room. Also when a guest went into the room across the hall it sounded like they were coming in our room. If we had an interior room it may have been better.

I stayed at the Hôtel Croix des Bretons for 4 nights, and it is my judgement that this is an excellent hotel, not to mention a superb value given the modest cost. The entire staff at the hotel are exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the entire hotel is immaculately clean. I did not eat any meals at the hotel, so I cannot comment on that, but in addition to the restaurant, the hotel features an extensive lobby with many intimate areas for guests to meet, and a lovely outdoor courtyard. The location is just about perfect -- very close to the Sanctuary, but on a quiet street. I would definitely stay at the Hôtel Croix des Bretons again!

Location was great; about 5 min to grotto. Con: no ac or ventilation in room. Due to our room location, we could only open the top window to get some cool air. If we opened the other windows, people passing by could literally stick their head in our room. That made us uneasy.
