We enjoyed our stay. We were upsold a ‘city view’ room but basically that faced the street rather than the inner part of the hotel. Maybe suited for the summer but it wasn’t worth it for winter. The view from the 5th floor isn’t high enough to see the city. The room was spacious. The bathroom was pod style with separate bathroom and shower room with frosted glass as you enter. The hotel is located near Atocha train station and an easy journey to Toledo.

Check in employee didn’t care that I had problems entering the hotel when I asked about elevators. She indicated elevators did exist but it is for wheelchair bound or other persons with mobility issues (that can be observed). I ended up dropping my food on the stairs outside of the hotel when I got tangled up. Tread carefully with luggage and other items. Same person ended up indicating that I didn’t have breakfast attached to my hotel stay which I expected. I got the distinct feeling she wanted me to pay for breakfast daily at the hotel. I got food (that was scattered on the front steps of the hotel) from Burger King around the corner. On top of that there is a Starbucks, McDonald’s, Dunkin Doughnuts, and KFC around the other corner. Felt generally safe in the area but one night did get the feeling that something was following me after I didn’t answer him. It’s probably safer physically as well as more things to eat and shop if you as a tourist stay at Gran Via.
