Seasonal Road Closure Notice: HWY 120 (Tioga Pass) generally closes for the winter from late October through late June. Daily closures can also occur during periods of inclement weather in spring and fall. The Eastern entrance to Yosemite National Park is located 45 minutes from Mammoth Lakes. Yosemite's Eastern Gate or Tuolumne Meadows is not accessible when Tioga Pass is closed. All other Yosemite National Park entrances are open year round. The front desk team was amazing!!! I had to stay one night at a different hotel who would not allow me store my luggage prior to checkin and Alphenhoff stored it for me even the night I didn’t stay there and then brought my ski bag to my room for me when I checked in there. The staff is incredible (and the location is excellent).

I love the alpanhof! It’s my favorite place to stay in mammoth! I love that it is still family owned and the place feels very cozy and the staff is very nice and the alpanhof still has that old School mammoth vibe that I love.

The location and room were nice but the walls are paper thin. People next door just talking felt like they were in the same room. They woke me up several times. For 300-400 a night during ski season, with a minimum 4 nights stay, it’s an extreme rip off! They take advantage of the great location by the village and over charge for a pathetically built building.

Lodge was very clean, quiet, comfortable bed, friendly staff. Fridge was noisy but, easy to unplug since we had nothing to put in. Staff did offer to bring ice bags. Good location. Would return.
