Welcome to Driftless Destinations, a spacious 4-bedroom, 3-bath pet-friendly vacation home in McGregor, Iowa, with room for up to 12 guests. Near Pikes Peak State Park, Effigy Mounds National Monument and the Mississippi River, it's a comfortable home base for families and friends to gather, play and unwind.
We created this home to be a place where families and friends can slow down, spread out and enjoy time together in one of our favorite parts of Northeast Iowa.
THE HOME
With approximately 2,700 square feet on two levels, there's plenty of room for everyone. The home includes four bedrooms with queen beds, three bathrooms, two sofa sleepers, comfortable gathering spaces and a fully equipped kitchen.
The main level offers step-free access and includes bedrooms, bathrooms, the kitchen and living areas, making it convenient for guests who prefer to avoid stairs.
ROOM TO GATHER
Whether you're here for a family getaway, friends' weekend, outdoor adventure or simply a few quiet days away, the house was designed for spending time together.
Gather around the kitchen island or dining table, relax in the living areas, or head downstairs for some friendly competition in the game room with pool, darts and other games.
OUTDOOR SPACE
Step outside and enjoy the peaceful wooded surroundings. Relax on the deck, gather around the fire pit in the evening, watch for wildlife or simply enjoy being tucked away in the Driftless landscape.
There's also convenient parking with room for vehicles, boats and trailers — especially handy for guests coming to enjoy the Mississippi River and surrounding outdoor recreation.
DOGS ARE WELCOME
Driftless Destinations was created with four-legged family members in mind, too. Dogs are welcome, and we provide a kennel along with waste bags and other pet-friendly touches to make traveling with your dog a little easier.
GREAT FOR FAMILIES
Traveling with little ones? A pack-and-play and high chair are available, and the home's spacious layout gives families room to spread out while still enjoying time together.
EXPLORE THE DRIFTLESS
One of the best parts of staying here is the location. You'll have easy access to McGregor, Marquette and nearby Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, while still enjoying a peaceful setting surrounded by the natural beauty of the Driftless Region.
Spend your days exploring Pikes Peak State Park, Effigy Mounds National Monument, Yellow River State Forest and the Mississippi River. Depending on the season, enjoy hiking, fishing, boating, kayaking, hunting, bird watching, wildlife viewing and scenic drives through the bluffs and river valleys.
Prefer a slower day? Explore local shops and antiques, visit area wineries, grab a bite to eat, visit nearby attractions or simply stay at the house and enjoy the space.

Every season brings something different to the Driftless — spring hiking and waterfalls, summer days on the river, beautiful fall colors and festivals, and quiet winter getaways made for games, movies and time together.
You'll find information in the home to help you get settled, along with local recommendations and ideas for exploring the area. And if you need anything before or during your stay, we're only a message away.

There’s plenty of room for everyone — whether you’re gathering around the table, challenging each other in the game room, relaxing on the deck or covered patio, or ending the evening around the fire. And because we know pets are part of the family too, we’ve made sure your four-legged travelers feel welcome here.

Just outside the door, the Driftless is waiting. Spend the day hiking the bluffs, fishing or boating on the Mississippi, exploring McGregor and nearby river towns, or simply stay put and watch the deer and birds wander through the woods.

We want Driftless Destinations to feel less like a place you rented and more like a place you’re already planning to come back to.

Small family gatherings are welcome. No parties, large gatherings, or unauthorized events. Maximum overnight occupancy is 12 guests, and all guests must follow the property’s house rules.
