The fact that the name says avid Memphis we took the train to Memphis and this hotel is really located in Mississippi. We wound up spending close to $200 on transportation talk about walking, where although there are a couple restaurants nearby within a half mile are so. There aren't any sidewalks in the area unless you walk through businesses and crosses their parking lots which there's traffic also. Was rather disappointing and expensive stay adfing in transportation cost. Hotel itself was nice . Also try some meat and eggs some kind of hot breakfast.

New property was very nice. Staff was almost overbearingly nice. The only complaint I have was the fact that all the bottles (shampoo, body wash, and conditioner) were empty. Just a bar of soap would have been fine. I usually bring my own soap but not this time.

We liked the modern feel of this property. It was clean and the staff was friendly. However, there are some issues. There was no in room coffee maker. Every hotel I've stayed at has had an in room coffee maker. You would need to walk down to the lobby for coffee. There was also an issue with the fire alarm. It blinks every 5 seconds or so. It is a bright strobe like light that lights up the room. When i asked the staff about it, the night person said it was a new one they put in some rooms. She said cover it up with something. This required us to stand on something to put a shirt on it. This didn't seem safe. I inquired again at checkout in the morning. The day person said it was new fire code and they can't do anything about it. I should rate this property less for this. I think they either have the wrong type of in room fire alarm or it's defective.

Got a room it was dirty. Had hair on the bathroom floor and in the shower. Floor was sticky. Bathroom counter had stuff on it. Got another room it was the same thing minus the hair.

Front desk staff was great. Breakfasts were average at best. Housekeeping was below average. Our room was freshened only on the third day of a four day stay. Had to go to the front desk for the appropriate number of towels. Bathroom showed wear.

So the smoke detector was like a strobe light in the room. On the wall, next to the bed, is the worst possible place for it. Hard to sleep with a light flashing in your room all night. Also, had to take a cold shower. There was no hot water left at 6:00 in the morning. They were full for a women’s conference and evidently their system could not accommodate everyone to take a warm shower.
