Unfortunately, our stay at The Gale Miami was very disappointing and did not meet expectations, especially considering the price and our VIP Access booking through Expedia.
The front desk agent who checked us in was extremely arrogant and condescending. He became visibly irritated when we asked what time we could use the hotel bikes. He was also hesitant to provide the complimentary bottle of wine that was clearly included with our VIP Access benefits, which made us feel uncomfortable asking for something that was already promised.
From the first day, our elevator key cards repeatedly failed to work. Staff blamed us, claiming we kept the cards too close to our phones, which we did not. It was frustrating to be made to feel at fault for what appeared to be an ongoing system issue.
The room itself had several problems. The air conditioner was extremely loud, making it difficult to sleep. We had to turn it off at night, but then the room became uncomfortably warm. There were also random ticking noises coming from the HVAC system throughout our stay.
In addition, the side table next to the bed had a sticky residue, some lightbulbs were out, and noticeable construction noise further disrupted our stay.
Overall, this experience fell far below expectations. Between the poor customer service and multiple maintenance and cleanliness issues, we would not choose to stay here again or recommend it to others.
