There was no remote control for the bedroom tv. I believe there should have been a remote to operate the fireplace but that one was missing too. Also, no forks in the silverware drawer. Although the entire 6 unit building was vacant except for one resident, my room was placed next to that resident. Other than that, the room was nice. Shower water pressure was excellent.

I booked the night before for a fishing trip on mille lacs. Unfortunately the trip had to be canceled due to high winds. I called numerous times to finally speak with someone to cancel my reservation. They wouldn't work with me on only paying half of the nights stay.

Super friendly & helpful staff--great stay.

Quick overnight stay over New Years... used to rest our head after the evening's festivities. Guest Services staff were great-- contacted me ahead with check in information and provided a number should we need anything during our stay; also worked with us on a late check out which was appreciated! Space was quiet, clean, and prepped for us without issue. Had hopes for more comfortable pillows...a minor thing in the grand scheme of things. It wouldn't deter us from booking another stay at Appledoorn's. Only other MINOR issue was the TV-- volume was hard to maneuver to a quiet viewing level. Even at level 3 is was loud, and level 2 shut the volume off without muting. TV clarity and access to channels were both great. Again, not enough to deter us, but if you're with a partner that is a light sleeper and you want to watch TV, one of you is going to have difficulties. :) Overall a great stay--positive experience, friendly professional staff, and a clean, welcoming environment. I'm guessing it's a hopping place in the summer months. Would not hesitate to book again.

Quick business stay. The room accommodations and view were amazing. I noted there was a restaurant on site but was disappointed that it was not open during my stay. I had to drive quite a distance to find a restaurant. If I had known it was closed during my stay I would have prepared or stayed somewhere else.

Quiet little resort with all the amenities. Nice restaurant near the lodge. Easy boat rental. Nice beach and playground for the kids.

Pleasant stay on Lake Mille Lacs!

Such a pleasant stay on Lake Mille Lacs! We were in town for a wedding, and I wish we could have spent more time taking advantage of the amenities, like the beautiful beach. The property was quiet, family friendly, and clean.

Appledoorn's Sunset Bay Resort

The resort is a well laid out family resort. Our getaway took place during covid-19 and was very private and relaxing. The quad hotel we stayed in was beautiful, spacious, clean and tastefully decorated. We are looking forward to returning in summer to enjoy all the fun resort activities!
