The hotel is practically right on the highway. It is not in the charming city of Carmel, which is on the other side of the highway. Since the hotel is almost on Highway 1, there is easy access to the beaches and parks south of Carmel. There is, however. a gorgeous, beautifully landscaped outdoor mall with many unique shops and restaurants right next to the hotel, and another shopping area across the street. The hotel room was clean, large, had a comfortable bed, robes ( always a plus for me), and a refrigerator. There is a restaurant right at the hotel.

I wasn’t very impressed with the hotel. The ice maker was out of order, the hot tub wasn’t heated, and I was surprised that the suite didn’t include a bathtub.

Very disappointed that there was not a microwave. We could not even warm up a cup of coffee. We wanted to warm up our leftovers from restaurant and again, could not. The beds were a little soft. The room was fine, but nothing special for the price. The location was good.

Stayed here for my Anniversary weekend with my girlfriend. We hit the hotel bar right after checking in. Bar staff definitely pays more attention to a certain type of guest over others. We were pretty much ignored with only 4 people sitting. My room curtain had what looked like dried splatter of some sort on it. Rooms are definitely over priced for what you get. Price per night for a basic room with a balcony facing a parking lot was comparable in cost to a suite in Vegas. The pool area and hot tub were the only thing I honestly enjoyed about the stay. They had a movie playing on a projector you could watch while enjoying a swim Sat night which was nice. I honestly had high expectations for my Anniversary stay and found myself apologizing to my girlfriend instead for it not being what I thought it was.
