Everything about this property is top tier! The service is five star, the staff is friendly and it has an old school ambience that is rarely seen these days. The hotel is an easy walk to the ocean and downtown Carmel. i can't wait to go back!

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at the La Playa Hotel. Hospitality was excellent and all the staff was very friendly. The room and amenities were great. You can't beat the location. It's just a few minutes from the beach and the main shopping area in Carmel. We appreciated the amenities that were offered on top, like a private driver bringing you to and picking you up from your dinner reservation or their happy hour with free cocktails in the afternoon or warm cookies in the evening. The champagne breakfast was incredible and easily one of the best breakfast buffets we've ever had offering a wide variety of options. We also appreciated the hotel bar Bud's, a dark & moody cocktail bar with fantastic cocktails and excellent food. We ended up spending quite some time there. Overall we had a fantastic time, and can't wait to visit again. We highly recommend the place.

Lovely hotel with a lot of charm. We had an ocean-facing room, and I loved the decor. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast spread was excellent and one of the best we've had at a hotel. The service was also top-notch. I deducted a star for the room's shower, which smelled musty and was a distraction from the otherwise perfect experience.

It was quaint and charming. Staff was very friendly and respectful. I would highly recommend this hotel and I would even return. It’s beautiful. The cookies in the evening was a nice touch, too, if craving sweets.

La Playa Hotel in Carmel is truly our favorite place to stay. Nothing else compares. From the moment you arrive, you feel wrapped in a level of warmth and sophistication that only La Playa delivers. The hotel effortlessly blends luxury with historic charm, creating an atmosphere that feels both timeless and elevated. Breakfast here is unforgettable. The spread is incredible, and the salmon caper hash browns are absolutely to die for, one of the best dishes we have ever had anywhere. Enjoying it all with ocean views has become one of our favorite traditions. The staff is consistently on point as well: attentive, professional, friendly, and always a step ahead in making sure every detail of your stay is perfect. If you are looking for a place where luxury meets historic sophistication, where every stay feels special and every moment feels relaxed, La Playa is it.
