Only stay here if your only priorities are being close to the train station and downtown. The hotel is extremely run down—barely a step above a 1970s hostel. The rooms look nothing like the photos. Ours was dingy, outdated, and had an unpleasant smell.
The staff were polite but ultimately not helpful. The room key is an actual metal key you’re required to leave at the front desk whenever you go out “in case you lose it.” Access to the rooms is either through a tiny elevator or dark, dirty stairwells. Again, the pictures online are nothing like reality.
It was so bad we left after the first night and moved to another hotel. I can’t even call it “old charm”—it’s simply old, with no updates whatsoever. The beds were thin mattresses on hard slatted frames.
Save your money and stay somewhere else. Some reviewers say “you get what you pay for,” but I completely disagree. I rarely write reviews, but I felt the need to because this place is so disappointing that you don’t even get what you paid for. I never would’ve booked this hotel if the photos had reflected the true condition. This isn’t a budget hotel—it’s a rundown motel with no investment in maintenance, upgrades, or even basic necessities.
