Fantastic property, had everything we needed. Great size pool for the kids to use. Feeding the chickens every night was a highlight for the kids. 35 min walk into Amboise town along the river. Great market on a friday and Sunday. Amboise castle is definitely worth seeing.

Excellent place for a family get together. Amboise within walking distance. peaceful grounds of chateau. The pool was so welcome as was the bbq. We would recommend the Château for a comfortable stay in France.

Family Stay in Loire Valley

We loved everything about this property. The owners were the ultimate hosts, providing information on the property and the area, bringing fresh bread, butter and jam daily. The pool and horse pastures were favorites for the kids. Staying in a chateau was the highlight for the adults. The home was well appointed and immaculately clean. A great space for a multi-generation family trip. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience

I came to Loire Valley to tour the castles of the region with my wife and two other couples. So, why not stay in a castle ourselves? That's exactly what we did. Alexia, one of the hosts, was there to greet us when we arrived. She showed us around the property (including a pool that sadly we didn't have time to enjoy). While the accommodation was not luxurious (we didnt expect so), we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Alexia provided lots of information about the neighborhood and gave us tips on restaurants and boulangeries. And the location, Amboise, had its own castle as well as a great Da Vinci museum. It was perfect. As a host of a Vrbo property in US, I thought this property was super and I highly recommend this property to anyone who visits Loire Valley.

Lovely property in a beautiful location

We stayed here as two families with 5 children between us. The property is really lovely, it has so much character and is set in spacious grounds so ample room for the children to entertain themselves. The pool is a good size and right next to the house and there was plenty of useful information left by the owners to help plan trips further afield.

Short Hop to Amboise

A three generations holiday for us. Four kids and six adults. Easy access by car to Loire Valley highlights as well as shopping and boulangerie. Afternoon gets quite warm but the pool provides the perfect solution.

Country Estate Close to City

We loved our stay at Nazelles-Negron! The location is perfect for visiting chateaux in the area, and Amboise is such a quaint town. It's the perfect walking town, and the setting along the river is amazing. I'm so glad we stayed there, because it has quite a few restaurants and bakeries. I didn't realize that some other places I looked at would have been pretty remote. It also has Aldi and Intermarche grocery stores. We ended up cooking more than we thought we would, because we were a group of nine, which is difficult to accommodate in small restaurants. If you want to eat out, I suggest making reservations, especially with the better restaurants in town. We loved our stay at the chateau! It's quirky, because it's a very old home with European appliances and bathrooms. We got used to everything quickly though. The layout of the house worked well for us, which is a little difficult to tell from the pictures. The living room, eat in kitchen, and one full bathroom are on the first floor. A spiral staircase leads to the second and third floor. The second floor has three bedrooms and two full bathrooms. Both bathrooms have tubs and shower handles, but no wall mount like we're used to in the US. The third floor has two bedrooms, one with the ensuite bathroom. That bathroom has a wall mounted shower. The hot water was sufficient, if you space out some showers between morning and night, and don't have a teenage daughter who takes a 30 minute shower! I was glad that we stayed on the third floor with the traditional shower. The climb up the spiral staircase takes a little getting used to, but I felt more comfortable with it the longer we stayed. You lean onto a twisting, grooved pole that goes down the middle. We saw the exact same design at the Clos Luce in Amboise, the home of Leonardo DiVinci the last three years of his life. It looked exactly like his design! All the beds were comfortable, with nice sheets and duvets. The towels aren't fluffy, since they are line dried, but worked fine for us. We also asked for wash cloths, as they weren't provided at first. There is a washing machine in the kitchen, but no dryer, so keep that in mind if you want to wash anything. The family is really lovely! They were available to us if we needed, but we didn't interact that much. They brought us eggs from their chickens, and the kids loved playing with their dog and looking at the horses. I would definitely recommend staying here!

A charming and comfortable place to stay near Amboise

Our family of 9 people, three generations ages 7-70, has just returned from a wonderful week at this Chateau. Our wing of the Chateau had 3 stories, with a large, well equipped country kitchen, a cozy living room and a bathroom on the ground floor, 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on the second floor, and two bedrooms and a bathroom on the top floor. The quaint spiral staircase is hundreds of years old and carved out of a single giant log. There was plenty of space for all of us. It was clean and comfortably furnished, including a dishwasher, washing machine, good wifi, and a lovely pool, with poolside tables, beach chairs, bbq and ping pong table. Everything you could want for a relaxing and comfortable stay! The owners live in the rest of the Chateau. They were friendly and helpful but never intrusive. Our grandchildren, who are in French immersion at school, visited with their children, and also translated for us, when the owners shared the fascinating history of the Chateau. The setting is peaceful and pastoral, with horses in the meadow and a chicken pen in the trees. The kids had plenty of room to run and had fun feeding the chickens. All of these things added up to make our stay here a truly unique experience that our family will never forget. Booking and communicating with the owners was easy through the app and everything was as described. It is only a 5 minute drive in to Amboise to the bakery and grocery store. Amboise is a charming town. We went to the light show at the castle there and it was fabulous.. The location of this chateau is perfect for visiting the many other chateaus in the Loire Valley. And we felt like royalty living in our very own castle, if only for a week!

A home away from home

Alexia, Jean-Sebastien and their three charming boys ensured that our stay with them was most enjoyable. We were a party of 5 adults and 3 children. The amenities provided suited us all - the lovely swimming pool, the historic house, the egg-laying hens with their handsome rooster, the football field for the children, and the delightful outdoor eating area. We are particularly grateful to Jean-Sebastien for arranging for his doctor to call to check on our grand-daughter when she fell ill. It would be lovely to stay there again, and we are so grateful to them for their hospitality. Nicholas and Williams family.

Family trip to Amboise

We enjoyed the pool area , with its bbq and space to seat 3 families across 2 tables , with its lovely evening sun. The kitchen was well equipped , plenty of utensils, and the bedroom layout worked well. The AC in the little apartment was particularly good. We enjoyed seeing Amboise, Blois , Vouvray and took a trip to Saumur. The kids enjoyed the high ropes at Clic Lac, for a day out of the sun . Overall the property worked well, although the décor is a bit tired inside, the outdoor area made up for that.

Lovely stay

Owners were very accommodating yet discreet. Our three children were a similar age to theirs and had great fun playing football in the huge garden and checking out the chickens (and trying to learn french). Pool was great. This is a fab location to explore many Loire hotspots - all very easy day trips (and cycle trips!). Amboise is a lovely town with huge character. We recommend this accommodation.

Wonderful stay with warm, welcoming host family

Wonderful, comfortable property with warm and friendly hosts. We had plenty of space and everything was there that we could possibly have needed! Our hosts were such a charming family and our kids enjoyed playing with their lovely boys. We were a multi-generational group of 11 and we all really enjoyed our stay - we felt so lucky to have found such a wonderful place. Oh, and the location cannot be beat - so close to town and right in the middle of everywhere you'd want to go in the Loire Valley!

We had an amazing stay in Chateau La Valliere because of three things: 1) Amazing location: It is a 300-year old castle with everything you need, from many, spacious rooms, fully equiped kitchen to the perfect swimming pool 2) Very thoughtful owners: the owners are very nice and had arranged everything for our stay - from providing two pairs of boots (in different sizes) for our little girl, a baby cot with sleeping bag to charcoal and firelighters for the BBQ 3) Amazing environment: Amboise with the Royal Castle is a 5 min drive, Chateau Chenonceau 20m We stayed here for a week and basically have not found any real negative points.
