Convenient location, friendly staff and clean facilities. What more can you ask for? If you don’t mind sharing a room and bathrooms (there are plenty, that’s also a plus) with other guests, this place would be your first and best choice. The kitchen has almost everything you will need, pans, plates, bowls and cutlery. The dishwashing soap was the only mystery that remained. Otherwise pretty useful. I would definitely stay there again.

Purposely built a a hostel, HI New Orleans is top notch! The bunk beds are built into the wall, not freestanding. The locker are the biggest I have seen & lock with your personalized room/bunk passkey. They need to bring back the breakfast, as do several other HI locations that I frequent. That is the one tin of the day where everyone gets a chance to socialize.
