No hot water in shower during 5-day stay

The Hilton New Orleans Riverside is an older property in a good location downtown. The French Quarter is nearby, as are many good restaurants. My only issue during our 5-day stay was the lack of hot water in the shower EVERY DAY! How can a Hilton charging high daily rates for rooms not provide hot water in the shower!

Arrived after a long drive and was told I could not unload my bags in front of the hotel. Sent to public parking to drag everything 3 floors down an ancient parking deck. River view room was 5% of the view if you looked way off from the garbage can of an outlet center. Accosted by makeup sales people when trying to walk through said outlet center. Asked front desk if I could leave a day early and was told it was not a problem and the last night was refunded. Got home and found out that never happened. Why lie? Why not just say no. Expedia was no help and repeatedly told me not to contact the property directly??? Last time I ever stay at a Hilton property.

It would have been perfect if not for the nightly freight trains that woke everybody up every 20-30 minutes. The train engineers made a case of sounding the horn 4 times, on top of the vibrations. Awful!

A good stay

The stay overall was good. The AC unit in our room had issues that prevented us from using and it was not fixed until the next evening. The staff, including those who fixed the AC, were incredibly nice and professional. Our room was very clean.

The property was satisfactory and close to the outlet mall and convention center. Staff were helpful and friendly. The rooms are spacious and clean but are showing signs of wear and could use some updating. WiFi was supportive for my work needs. Restaurants have a satisfactory selection of options but nothing really stood out. I’d say a visit across the street is a nicer steak restaurant at 4 seasons if that is what you’re looking for. Not bad for a quick stay.
