Didnt even get to enter the room; was charged 500$ extra on top of Expedia's unment rate (including xx or "insurance that made NO difference), PLUS a xx pet fee. I only made it as far as the lobby, and was subsequently told my room wasn't ready (although I had paid for & reserved it for a day before I arrived).For context--I reserved it for a Wednesday, knowing I would get there Thursday around 11-1145 am, but didn't want to wait an extra 4-5 hours with my dog, unclean, meetings to attend, and no way to sleep after driving ten and a half hours straight. I was told it would be a twenty minute wait in the lobby (that they would find me a different room and had given mine away although it was paid for).Forty five minutes later, I asked for my vehicle keys back because they'd taken it at the check-in that never actually happened, took them another thirty minutes for 3 different parking attendants to realize-coherently-that they had no idea who had my keys or where my vehicle was. I found it myself, actually. I got in it, rescheduled every meeting, & drove straight back home. It was a terrible experience. I find it interesting however, that they didn't send me the text confirmation that they'd assured me would be "twenty minutes" at the beginning, until almost five pm. It took six hours, and after the next check time day to find a room I'd already paid for...Couldn't get a refund, completely blown off about everything i've said, and simply writing this as a cautionary review.

The check in was fast and efficient. The location is probably the best in NOLA. The weekend rates are very expensive, but our Monday rate was very reasonable.

The Staff was great and the facility was clean but in the room, neither the phone nor the refrigerator was working. The phone was a bit of a problem as I could not contact room service or any hotel amenities. I had to walk down to the counter every time

The room was clean for the most part, my husband found debris in the tub that really wanted to use. I thought that I had booked the newer tower but I had not. It’s a beautiful hotel. It’s kind of old money looking. The crowd was mostly upper 40s in age. It was a very busy lobby. The carousel bar was and is the best thing about the hotel and it seems to bring in the crowd. I was not thrilled about being the last door/room in the hall we were in and I never saw other people on our floor just in the elevator. Would I come again? No. It’s over priced for a classy but old hotel. The location is great though right in the center of the french quarter. With so many newer hotels I didn’t see the draw to this one except for the bar. No person went over and beyond or did anything that really stuck out. We were celebrating a birthday and an anniversary. They did give us two complementary drinks from the bar, but getting a seat at the bar is a challenge. If it wasn’t for the location I would’ve given 2 stars. I have stayed at 5 stars and less hotels, I liked to be wowed, nothing here except “again” the bar that did much for me. I was stuck between here and the Roosevelt Hotel and we are going to stay a night there tomorrow. Maybe I will be wowed tomorrow. The old rooms are old, but to be fair the room overall was clean and the bed comfortable.
