Sunday morning, we had an issue with noise. I. What seemed to be a motorcycle rally taking place on the street outside of our room at 3 am. We had breakfast at the hotel restaurant on Monday morning. It was the most subpar breakfast I have ever had in New Orleans. Tasted like the cheapest ingredients possible were used. Other than that, everything was fantastic.

The woman at the front wasn’t friendly at all when she could be found. It was rare when someone was working at the cafe and they were rude when I put a wine glass on their counter instead of walking through the busy dining area and putting it on the connected bar 3 feet away. The rooms are very dark and the lights in our room and our friends’ room were flickering. The art is cool and decor is fun, but that’s it.

Staff was very nice. The room was old and tired. The AC blew directly onto center of bed making it very uncomfortable to sleep. Either too cold or too hot. The gym was perfectly serviceable but the room was incredibly hot w no ventilation. In addition, I had to pay the amenity fee, but could not get the wellness kit because not available. The bed was also made upside down originally it was very strange.

Overall the hotel was okay. The exposed brick is awesome, the location was pretty decent and the room size was good. Positives: •LOCATION! It was within walking distance of a ton of places - super dome, aquarium, WWII museum, French Quarter, etc. Near many restaurants, bars and coffee shops which is great considering the lacking options of the hotel. Near a little bodega shop for water, snacks, soda, etc. •Cool architecture/exposed brick. •Half the staff was friendly. There was one housekeeper (maybe the lead) who was sweet as can be. The security guard was a delight also. •Nightly security •Early check in/late check out options (for a fee) •Lots of counter space/cabinets in the room. Several hangers and space for luggage. Negatives: •We set the air at 60⁰ and it NEVER went below 70⁰. Visited in December but it hit 80⁰ a few days so the a/c was necessary for Midwesterners. •Bathroom ventilation is terrible so there was a musty smell and the showers just made our room warmer. •Noisy! (Street, room to room, etc) •Amenities were lacking. No vending machines, no laundry service or washer, the breakfast was a little over priced and not all that thrilling, no scale to check our luggage and on day 3 our fridge went out. •Some staff were snarky/rude. •NO counter space in the bathroom. •The toilet seat and tank were super loose and . The standing lamp was loose/broken. The floors, mirror, fan and windows needed a good cleaning.

Front desk day staff needs coaching on hospitality. Afternoon and night staff should maintain a better presence at desk. Amenities should be better checked by cleaning staff. A working iron and blow dryer should be maintained. We did not dine here but had a drink at bar. Cocktails were excellent and bar staff professional and polite.

Stayed here for NYE. An old world themed hotel so uneven wood floors and each room appears different. Shower and bed was very nice. Very close to Canal St, Streetcars and French Quarter. Laz parking across the street was expensive but was convenient and easy to set up with smart phone
