It’s a pretty and nice hotel. It is located next to the port and located 2 to 3 blocks near the casino and the French Quarter, I highly recommend this hotel except for the parking it is $51 a night

The room, bathroom and common areas were clean. The bed was firm and comfortable. Breakfast was simple, appealing and satisfying. Overall esthetics of hotel is charming with New Orleans’ jazz and industrial flair. A couple that traveled with us was pleased with their room as well and plans to book again the next time they visit New Orleans. They called it a “hidden gem”.

Since we were staying for 4 nights the front desk staff made sure we had an upper room with a nice view. We found a small parking lot less than two blocks away on a corner with easy online payment. We love to walk and could easily make it to the WWII museum, French quarter, and more.

The hotel is in a good location and the decor is nice. I enjoyed a simple buffet breakfast. The primary issue was lack of heat on a cold night. On the following morning, I called and they brought heaters which made a difference overall, I would stay again, but maybe not when the weather is cold or I would request heaters in advance.

First I must say that this hotel is a hidden gem in plain sight. It’s tiny and may not be as popular as the Hilton or Caesar but the rooms are fabulous. I stayed there a couple of nights before and after my cruise. The bedrooms were spacious and the foyer had a desk where I could work in privacy and comfort. The staff were super accommodating and made sure my son and I felt safe after a bad encounter at another hotel. The breakfast was fresh and tasty with multiple hot and cold beverages. Whenever I return to NOLA I’m reserving my stay at the Mercantile. I hope Marlin and D are both still working there. Barry is a top notch chef and made the best waffles according to my son. Blessings to all in 2026.

The breakfast wasn’t good at all. The flavor was nasty. Was waken early with a staff member trying to get in the room. Then front desk called a few minutes later asking why didn’t we change rooms last night. It was a crazy experience. Also the smell of marijuana was bad on the elevators.
