My wife and I came back from the city late at night only to find that our room was not made. I called front desk and was told that due to the time they could only refresh the towels. When I complained next day, the manager gave me a $25 credit for the night. I find this incredible considering I was paying ca. $600/night.

Your staff was great. Here are a few suggestions; use a higher quality tea in the lobby. Serve some red onions with tuna melt, it is a little unclear where to check in. it is kind of dark in the check in area too. Your lobby area is very popular, and for good reason. It is a cool place to hang out.

Having stayed at this hotel in the past and really enjoyed it, I have to say I am very disappointed with our last stay. The Hoxton website FAQs make it seem like they are prepared to host families with children, but based on our experience, they are not. I let the hotel know we needed a crib in our room and we were arriving very late to the hotel, when we checked in, there was no crib in our room and the gentleman who came to set it up, made me shuffle all of our luggage with a crying baby at 1 o’clock in the morning to get the crib where it needed to be— which is why we asked for the crib to be in the room when we got there. Also none of the other “kid amenities” were offered to us. The water station in the hallway was also broken on our floor so it took forever to fill up the carafe provided in the room. And the shower design is horrible and flooded the bathroom. If you are a solo traveler, the room is probably fine size wise, but for two people and a baby it was cramped! We were also traveling with friends and the hotel lobby is not a lobby at all. It’s a restaurant and to be in the space you have to be purchasing something. There is nowhere for hotel guest to just exist outside of their room. For how expensive the hotel is, I expected more and I don’t expect we will come back. I think we could have gotten a similar priced hotel with a better setup overall.

I recently stayed at this hotel and unfortunately had a deeply unsettling and disappointing experience. A male staff member entered my room without knocking, leaving me absolutely petrified. His explanation was that he “thought the room was empty,” which is simply unacceptable. As a lone female traveller, this incident made me feel unsafe for the rest of my stay. Although I was moved to another room, the feeling of discomfort and anxiety didn’t go away.On top of this, I had clearly communicated my allergy requirements prior to arrival. Despite being assured the room had been deep-cleaned, it was thick with dust, and I was given a feather quilt even though I had pre-requested anti-allergy bedding. I constantly had to remind the concierge and follow up on emails, which was draining and added to the overall negative experience. Lily tried to be helpful, but there was ongoing miscommunication and delayed responses. Junior was also helpful when present. There were some positives. Jeff in the restaurant was wonderful, and the complimentary breakfast was excellent. However, some staff at the coffee and Danish station appeared disengaged and frosty. Overall, I will not be staying here again. The combination of a staff member entering my room without knocking, poor communication from management, and the failure to action my allergy requests appropriately made this stay far below acceptable standards.
