We enjoyed our stay at The Executive Inn. Lovely breakfast buffet, great outdoor spa and the pool curfew of 9pm was enforced meaning that it was quiet at night time. Rooms are individually air-conditioned and the staff are friendly. We were needing to go to John Hunter Hospital which was a short bus trip away or a 20 minute walk (all downhill on the way back!) There's a small shopping village very close by.

The reception staff seemed slightly rude when I requested towels for the pool, which I was told should have already been in the room (they weren't). Slightly confused, I asked if I was expected to use the bath towels for the pool as there were no separate pool towels in the room. The staff member then went to retrieve 2 bath towels and after requesting 2 more (there were 4 of us) I thought I received a slightly petulant look.

The aircon in the room did not get cold, we rang reception and were told she wasn’t even sure how the aircon worked so could not help us. The fridge in the room did not work at all. The wifi was not strong enough to stream a movie. Housekeeping opened the door without knocking whilst there was a do not disturb sign on the door and then put a note under the door saying they noticed the do not disturb sign.

Convenient location for event happening nearby (Newcastle Hockey). Quiet at night for the most part. Comfortable beds - good sleep! Stayed 2 weeks in reasonable comfort. Room service food options are limited - everything is walking distance so do that instead.
