We were in a handicap room #134. Several cockroaches in the toilet area. They had changed the entry door to the toilet and shower area and installed a barn door which left two large gaps on each side of the door which affected your privacy. We ate each morning in the dining area and they provided a good breakfast. A bit unusual for a Best Western motel. The room was very clean and in the bed area amd well prepared for the guest. Staff was very cordial and helpful. We had asked for a downstairs room and maybe this is all that they had. Any additional questions feel free to contact me. Bob Werkheiser 909 7252121

Overall good experience

Room was clean, except a big blob of napkin or tiolet paper stuck over smoke alarm up by ceiling. Kind of gross looking. Breakfast was very clean and the attendant was very kind and polite.

The property is old and needs repairs and updates. Check in room with ants all over. Building had a musty smell and an uninviting odor. Checkout within 3 days of an 8 days stay. Very disappointment for a Best Western Property. Will not revisit unless remolded.

Room was shabby, beds were uncomfortable, smelled like mildew, metal air conditioner made a clanging sound all night. The stair railings were all loose and the were uneven with metal panels bolted to them to hold the railings. Tripping hazards.

Traveled with family and small children. Conveniently by the freeway. We stayed here one night for the beach before our trip to Legoland and forgot my Stanley cup when we checked out. The front desk staff who went out of his way to check our room right away when I called, is the definition of great customer service and care. Thankfully, the room wasn’t cleaned out yet, and he was able to find my Stanley, as it is a limited edition one. Wish I would’ve gotten his name to thank him. But, I would recommend and stay here again.

Things we liked best!

We enjoyed the location, near enough to the beach, close to Carlsbad for resturants and shopping, quiet room with the best airconditioning system we have ever experienced in a motel, very comfortable bed, wonderful hot tub, and an enjoyable, hot breakfast, all at a resonable price with friendly office hosts and motel staff. A very enjoyable stay indeed! Thank you Best Western Oceanside! You are a "5-star motel" in our humble opinion!

False advertisement for pool view room

I requested early check in days in advance, they could not accommodate. I also asked for a pool view room, the room was not near the pool. 221 is not considered a “pool view”. The A/C was barely coming out as well. Overall not a good experience
