Our stay at Coco Key was nice. This is an older property that has been renovated new. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Check in was quick. The shuttle to Universal was nice. Only wish it ran later as the last one back to the hotel was at 7:20p. We had no complaints and would recommend this place. Just realize, as I said before, it is an older property that has been renovated. For the price you canā€™t go wrong.

AC nightmares

AC went out, which isnā€™t a bad thing but they kept unplugging it and plugging it and say that would fix. It would last for a little and then hot air would blow out again. The customer service during this was terrible, they didnā€™t offer to switch rooms. Then the inconsiderate manager decides wake-up calls at 7am is appropriate after the issues took place through 1am. They service in the breakfast is excellent, but majority of items like hasbrowns and sausages were over cooked. Bar staff again very nice, but the prices were not worth the value. I would not recommend.

We checked in 2 in the morning because of delayed flight. Entered the room and was hit with a most terrible smell, could not stay in the room at all. The front desk was very apologetic and moved us to another room. The room didn't smell but definitely needed an upgrade. Towels and rags were dingy and stained.

Upon arriving I was concerned about the neighborhood but security seemed good. We checked in with two children and were given a room on the second floor. The building did not have an elevator and the staff switched us to a first floor room. We got the new key and couldnā€™t get in the room. Apparently my husband had to slam his body weight into the door to open it. I put my 1 and 2 year old on the floor to play while we unpacked. We sat some things on the bed and noticed the bed frame was broken. After unpacking I looked at my childrenā€™s socks and noticed that in 10 minutes they had become completely black. I had planned to go to Walmart for Lysol wipes to clean the floor myself. However, I then glanced to the floor to see a German cockroach crawl across my son. That was it. I went to the front desk and asked for a refund and checked out. They offered to place me in another room but I declined. If there are German coach roaches in one room they are in then all. I do not recommend this facility at all.

Family trip to Orlando

I came to Orlando with my three kids (13, 9, 7) for the first time. The kids really enjoyed the water park, and the arcade. It was a nice break from the Disney Parks. We will be coming back to Orlando and we will be staying here.
