Room was clean, but had shower over bath with curtain, rather than walk in style. I would’ve preferred a kettle to boil water for tea rather than use coffee pod machine in room. Staff friendly and helpful, but not all able to speak fluent English - understandable as Quebec is French speaking - but good to know this beforehand. Hotel is close to Ottawa (10 min taxi ride to CBD). Buffet breakfast on offer was a nice selection of fresh fruits, cereals, hot foods, breads - additional charge but I thought was worthwhile, and there were no nearby alternatives to go to. Would recommend to solo traveller - I felt safe staying there.

I was contacted only in french to pre check in. I don't speak french and found this process irritating at best. The hotel itself was fine, although the shower curtain didn't even cover the shower so the bathroom was a mess. I was again contacted, again only in french to check out. Which again I ignored. Made me feel like as an english speaking customer they were not interested in me ...

The room itself was great (spacious and a great view), bit there was no soap in the bathroom (for hands or body) but only shampoo, conditioner and body cream). Also. The electric wasn't properly connected, on one side of the bed the electric outlet wasn't working. It was unplugged from a power bar. Also. In the breakfast dining room, the temperature was probably below 10 or 15°C... It was sooo unpleasant!! I know, the outside temperature was -25C, but we're in Quebec, winters are cold and the hotel should be heated/insulated accordingly. Luckily, the room was warm enough.
