This flat is perfect if you want old italy. It is located at the entrance to the capo market - fruits and vegetables, coffee and limoncello, all manners of fried, sautéed and raw seafood, right outside your door. Authentic Italian cuisine - most don’t speak much english so you know it is authentic. Three blocks from the theater. Great location. The apartment has a cold air conditioner, comfortable bed and is well equipped in the kitchen and bath. In the evening the market is gone but the street is alive with music and locals eating and drinking, but the flat is so quiet at night. Great restaurants right out your door. The host was A, always answered my many questions promptly. There are many steps, so if you have mobility issues it is not for you but it was perfect for our group of two couples. Highly recommend.

Large ancient apartment in the heart of capo

Gracious host and very clean apartment full of beautiful antiques. Right above the market. Be ware, you will have to walk and enter though an outdoor dining area while the market is open and stairs are very steep and hard to navigate with baggage.

Property was very central to all attractions in Palermo. Just out the door to all the street eats you could ask for. Comfortable for all our needs. Excellent stay. A little confusing arrival since the property in on a non drivable street… tho part of the adventure. Host was very accommodating & good communication.

We enjoyed our three weeks at this VRBO location. The descriptor was totally accurate about the facility, and watching the daily routine of the people working and visiting the market. The action started around 7 am but every day it was cleaned up and quiet by 3 pm. The apartment was within walking distance of the main attractions and many restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Mauricio was a gracious and helpful host e.g. providing a new toaster and coffee maker. Upon request. Awesome! Of note, and we don’t remember the descriptor of the apartment, but be prepared for stairs. It worked for us, but just so you know.

We loved this place. Our host, Maurizio, was very helpful and kind. The apartment is fully set up with everything you'd need in the kitchen and with laundry. There are 5 beds and two floors. The location is perfect for exploring Palermo. There's usually lots of parking on Via Amico Ugo Antonio. It's less than 5min walking from the place. It's 1 euro per hour but free after 8pm and for a period in the afternoon.

Wonderful Appartment

Good sized apartment with two balconies one looked on to the busy market which was great to watch the drama of a typical Sicilian market and the second one was larger and quiet so the best of both worlds. Really well equipped kitchen with everything you need. The air con worked a treat and was essential during hot July. Really quiet and tranquil apartment which I would highly recommend to anyone. Maurizio was a gentleman and gave us a run down of how to work the cooker and left bottled water in the fridge which was a nice touch .He also have us information regarding local travel with train and bus times which was really useful. I would seriously consider going back. The apartment itself is so well positioned a 5-10 minute walk to the centre of Palermo and around the corner from the theatre Massimo where scenes from the Godfather part 3 were shot. Gracie Maurizio

Simply the best value, spacious and centrally located apartment you could wish to find!

We had great communication with Maurizio from beginning to end including helpful advice about taxi sharing from the airport. The apartment was central and in a street filled with character overlooking the market. Other reviews have covered it all but for us, we loved the space and the private terrace at the back, great showers and very well equipped . For location , comfort and value for money, it was the best in Palermo. Thank you Maurizio for a great stay.!

The address was different to the one I was originally given by homeaway. And then different again by owner. Same street but different number 3 times! Very dirty mattresses dirty bathroom and kitchen sink Would not stay here again. Wish I’d not looked at mattresses or sofa under sheets. The dining chairs were filthy and worn out Not comfortable. Smelly bedroom especially. Great location and great people watching balcony but wouldn’t feel safe as lone traveller if arriving after dark.

Spacious apartment above a street market.

My friend and I stayed in this apartment and there was more than enough room or to people! When we first arrived at the apartment there was no electricity, but Maurizio promised to fix the problem soon or he'd help us find other accommodations. Not an hour later we had electricity. Maurizio and his wife were gracious host. I was able to keep in contact with them through WhatsApp, which was super helpful. There was bottled water and a few other edible items in the kitchen to welcome us. It was nice to have a street market below us. My friend and I were able to eat fresh foods and we thoroughly enjoyed this. The only downside that either of us saw was that the market sold fresh fish neither of us is really a fan on the fish smell.

Wonderful place to stay in beautiful Palermo!

Everything was great! The location is right above the market, so there is always something to watch. Upstairs it was very nice & quiet to sleep. The terrace has sun all afternoon, great to have a coffee when you want some quiet. Wifi was fast, kitchen, bathrooms well equipped. Couldn‘t have been better. Thank you!
