Been coming to Palm Springs for over 20 years. This has been my absolute favorite hotel the past 10 years or so! Love the tiki vibe, rooms are super spacious compared to most hotels. Staff is always friendly. I’ll keep coming back!

The hotel is okay, but it was between 90 and 100 decrees outside and the pool temperature was way too high. Probably around 90 decrees Fahrenheit. No way to enjoy your time in the pool and cool off a little bit. What a shame, because the pool is big and beautiful and so is all the surrounding. This was the third time this has happened in the near past. I've been going to the Caliente for over 20 years, but it looks like the management can't take care of their crown jewel properly. I'm just glad I didn't book 2 nights. It's Palm Springs, for crying out loud. People want to use the pool.

Cool little spot. The rooms were dated-looking for sure and had a burnt orange/brown carpet I swear was from the 50s, but everything in the room seemed to work and it served its purpose for sure. As for the property- it was really cool. Awesome two restautrants in a single building ajacent to the large pool area, one a Mexican restaurant with an incredible look and vibe and even better food and a large Tequila bar, thebother a carribean-inspired restaurant with a large Rum secetion and sole really inventive (and delicious) drinks. Verry close to downtown are of Palm desert, so many other places to go at night.

The area around the pool was wonderful. Great food at the tiki bar. Some maintenece could be done in the room. Update some of the furniture and fix the loose knob on the bathroom door but would for sure stay again.

Have no alarm clock, no microwave, flat shower valve, it's hard to pull with finger nail. My wife could not pull out at all. After 2 nights, we stepped by asking the office lady, Ana about clock, microwave...She was so rude, yelled at me, talked so fast like attacking. All I said to her to keep quite, no need to yell at traveler. Stay away for kind attitude!

We booked a room for March 13 to 16th as we have done every time we'd visit Palm Springs. We always enjoyed our stays here in the past but this time was a completely different experience. It first started with check in which took about 20 min because there was only one person checking in a huge line. No biggie, but wouldve been helpful for the poor woman working solo. I requested a room on the second floor but it was pretty packed so we were assigned a room on the first floor that was unfortunately right next to a room that was being renovated. So no chance to relax after check in with construction noise happening all afternoon. Cable wasnt working so we couldnt turn the volume up to help drown out that noise. The room was very worn down, dirty, holes in the walls and missing or broken outlet plates. Grout missing in the tile bath floor, broken/chipped laminate flooring that they tried to fix with glue. The worse part was the bed which bowed and sank toward the middle. I threw out my back after 1 night of sleep here that we decided to just leave. The manager Jose called me the next morning to ask where we had gone, i explained everything and how unhappy we were. He was apologetic and offered a refund for the two nights we werent staying. I told him i really appreciated that offer. He said we'd get a refund within 3 to 5 business days. Well its been over 6 weeks now and still no refund. I think thats pretty messed up to offer that and then rescind it. We will not be returning.

We enjoyed the quietness, staff in general were very nice. Maybe one bartender was a little arrogant. What I didn't like, were the floors in general in the wooden floored rooms, were not cleaned very well. I always had to wash my feet before I got into bed. But on saying that I would definitely go back again. And I left the tiki bar.

We checked in with Edna and she was great so was Jose. Love the old school small hotel better that the giant chain hotels. Two story park out front. Sanchos is a great Mexican Restaurant right near lobby great for breakfast and dinner. Love the giant old school pool and hot tub with the Hawaiian theme and tikis and Hawian music. Loved it!
