We checked in late, front desk was very nice & helpful but the hotel is very dark at night. The valet service was terrible! Honestly I don’t even know what else to say. Young & rude! The room needs a deep clean. Carpet was dirty, we found candy and a spoon along the edge of our beds which was easily visible but housecleaning just missed it. The bathroom fixtures are all rusted, the water at the sink barely came out and it made a horrible noise. No mattress protector on the bed and no fitted sheet. A flat sheet was just lying in the bed. I booked this hotel based on reviews and people got this one wrong!

We booked the Kimpton Monaco for 3 nighta for a family wedding. Everything was expensive but your paying for the location. Right next door is independence hall and the liberty bell. If your visiting this area for these attractions then great place to stay. If not its disappointing if you like 5 star hotels. We have stayed at the kimpton in Miami and this was nowhere near their level of a luxury 5 star hotel. Elevators were small and took too long

My new favorite in Philly. I'd be happy to stay here again in the future. The staff is welcoming and attentive, the space is very pretty and unique, and they really care about your comfort. Breakfast is in the Red Owl tavern, highly recommended. Plus, you can actually see they care about sustainability — not just put cheesy signs.

We love the Kimpton Monaco Philadelphia and try to stay here every time we come to town. The hotel has a funky boutique vibe with an excellent, friendly Happy Hour in the lobby each evening. The location is excellent, the staff is top notch and we love the uniqueness of the rooms. Highly recommend.

Pros-great location, attached restaurant is good, included happy hour Cons-Our room smelled strongly of mildew. When I called the front desk they had no solutions. When I reported on the 2nd day that it still smelled they sprayed chemicals around our room and gave me 2 drink tickets. Only 1 of the 4 elevators worked Saturday-Tuesday. Our sliding bathroom door was very hard to close. I reported. It wasn’t fixed. View from our window was awful.

Our room was clean, quiet. The bed was very comfortable. Everything in the bathroom was in good condition. the Monaco is within walking distance of outstanding restaurants, historic sites, and the river. Valet parking worked well and the front desk staff were pleasant and responsive. The only annoyance was the lack of working elevators. Only one worked during our stay.

Was a great location and staff was awesome. Only issue was the elevators…three out of four were out of service so wait times were quite lengthy. Unfortunate situation for guests in a big city hotel.

location + dog friendly

Great location, dog friendly in a colorful hotel with plenty of personality. Room was very comfortable, staff was lovely. My only ask would be that they clean up the elevator lobby after parties on the rooftop. We had to walk through the messy aftermath the following morning to get to and from our room.
