Play the onsite 18 hole Jack Nicholas Golf Course or visit the spa and fitness center. There are also 4 tennis courts, 3 swimming pools, nightly entertainment, snorkeling, scuba diving, and kayaks for your enjoyment. Activities are also offered for the children. There are also multiple gourmet restaurants on property.
Your unit includes a fully furnished kitchen, marble bathroom, air conditioning, and cable TV. Sleeps up to 8, with King bed in the master bedroom and two queen beds in the lockout bedroom. A fold out couch is available in the living room. Each room is elegantly furnished, with beautiful views.

Great property, wonderful family vacation!

Overall experience was awesome. We originally were booked at The Bliss but were changed to the Grand Mayan at check in, not completely sure why. We had a ground floor 2 bedroom unit for my husband, myself and two small children. The space was great, tons of room, two bathrooms and main living room and kitchen area. We looked out to the golf course.. but unfortunately there's a road in between where the shuttle trollies are constantly coming and going (not quiet, or private). After the first night of listening to the trollies we asked to switch rooms and they promptly made the adjustment to the opposite side of the building looking out over the grounds and jungle. MUCH better. We were in building 12 which is about as far away from the main pool area and beach as possible. That is one draw back of the property, it is just so large that to get to the beach from our room was potentially a 3 or 4 min wait for the trolly, a 5 min ride and a good 8 min walk to the beach. It was OK, just a lot of wasted travel time and some complaints from the kids. There is a lot to explore on the property, iguanas everywhere, crocodiles, flamingos and sea life of course. We also attended the Cirque de Soleil show which was wonderful. Even our 2 year old was amazed and captivated nearly the whole time. We made our way through the restaurants which were all top notch. We really enjoyed Blue Fish, Nektar and Cafe de Lago for casual breakfast and lunch. The pools area slightly too cool for my comfort. The first few days of our visit it was very windy and mid 70's which made swimming almost uncomfortable. But the last few days it was calmer and 82 and they felt much more refreshing. I wish the property had hot tubs, a drinking water source in the hotel buildings (had to buy at the store and walk it back every time)... and another coffee shop (line was always extremely long). Overall a great experience and we would return.

Grand Mayan Palace -Vidanta Riviera Maya

***THE VRBO LISTING/OWNER CONTACT*** (5 stars) Booked this VRBO listing thru time share owner who provided all details, answered questions promptly and provided his contact phone # to talk to directly. Gave recommendations places to go grocery shopping etc Subsequent to this trip the owner also took initiative to call me to ask how the holiday was. ***ARRIVAL at CANCUN AIRPORT/SHUTTLE TRANSPORTATION to resort*** International travelers arrive at Terminal 3, once you collect your luggage exit thru the front door and locate the "Cancun Bay Excursions" shuttle van service which is contracted out by Vida. You have to pre-register for this shuttle van with Vidanta and remember to print out your confirmation. Airport is a bit overwhelming as multiple planes are arriving at same time and as you exit airport you are approached by numerous time share sales people and others that offer you transportation. Politely say "no thanks" and keep walking. Expect to wait 30+ minutes for your shuttle to transport you to the hotel or take a cab which would cost approx $75 usd. ***Vidanta Riviera Maya resort/ GRAND MAYAN PALACE*** (4.5 stars) Check-in process 45 min.. Originally booked 2 adjoining room at for The Bliss however was upgraded to the Grand Mayan Palace. Once you have checked in, once again expect to be approached by time-share sales staff in the lobby. We booked adjoining rooms as we were travelling with our 2 adult university aged daughters. Rooms were spacious & clean. Common room in between the bedrooms was a kitchenette and living room. Very nice to have as it had a stove, fridge, plates, utensils etc. I would recommend the Grand Mayan Palace (GMP) as building is very new, clean and spacious. The GMP has approx 12 individual buildings which are all 3 stories in height along the jungled area of the resort. Our room, which was on the ground floor faced the main road of the resort. Recommend the quieter jungle side - opposite to the golf course. ***RESTAURANTS*** (4.0 -4.5 stars) There are approx 10 restaurants at the resort Had meals at Havana Moon, Balche, Blue Fish, Del lago, Green Break & Nektar. All very good. Highly recommend the Nektar which is located next to Cirque de Soleil theatre. Saw JOYA show and would recommend! ***BEACH (1 star) &POOLS (4.5 stars) Beach quality is poor as there are numerous rocks. Pool is beautiful. You have to go early to claim beach/pool chairs which is downside. Reserve Cabana 24 hrs advance
