We were very pleased with Riu Playacar. The room was immaculate and tended to every day by conscientious staff. Food was plentiful and delicious and appreciated the varied menus. Always something to do for everyone. Common areas were fastidiously looked after. We are definitely planning on coming back next year.

We were a party of 10 and first time at Riu Playacar. We were given the rooms we chose on Expedia when we made our reservations, building 7 with ocean views. And the view was gorgeous! The rooms were very clean, staff was always pleasant, any requests that we made were fullfilled quickly. There was something going on everyday. The food was descent for resort food. We loved the steak house!

This resort is quite small but it doesn’t feel small because there’s always something to do. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious, especially the days they had papaya. Everything was clean for the most part. I saw the staff cleaning the walkways early mornings. The only thing that didn’t seem too clean was the coffee area in the breakfast/dining hall. I saw a couple of small roaches or insects that looked like roaches in that area. It didn’t turn me off from getting coffee but something to note.

We had a really good stay at Riu Playacar, food was great (both buffet and a la carte restaurants), service was fantastic and everything was really well kept, we have stayed at this resort twice and would not hesitate to do it again.
