Beautiful hotel in middle of Prague
Beautiful hotel right in the middle of Prague. Old town square and other sights are within minutes. The hotel offered a wide variety of foods for breakfast, but the breakfast is not included and cosrs 18 euros. The room was very nice. I stayed in a suite with exposed beams and beautiful views over the rooftops.

When we arrived we found that the restaurant was shut and there was no facilities. it was like entering an empty building down a small alley covered in graffiti. The room was adequate but our telephone was disconnected so we had to walk back down to reception for every enquiry. It was not fixed in the four days we stayed there. Housekeeping was poor. You even have to pay 1 euro if you want a coffee pod for your coffee machine.

We did not mention anything about my birthday but I think they saw it in my reservation and surprised us with a bottle of sparkling wine and a birthday card. Truly was not expecting anything like that to happen but it was greatly appreciated and very kind of them. The room we stayed in was clean and comfortable. The bathrooms were modern and everything worked. Internet was fast for social media and looking up places on Google. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is in the heart of old town, a stones throw away from the Astronomical Clock, so expect crowds on your way to the hotel. By no means a negative, but something to be aware of if you don’t like big crowds. Overall the Dominican was clean, presentable, convenient, safe, and cozy.

The welcome was very pleasant and the service efficient. However the property fell short of ‘exceptional’ by a wide margin considering the room rate we paid. Restricted head height in the bedroom we stayed in, where the photographs on Expedia show more spacious accommodation. We were told, unprompted on arrival, that there was no point in complaining because the hotel was fully booked. We were disappointed that the restaurant was permanently closed. The common lounge areas were nice, but the breakfast area needed updating. The overall location of the hotel was good.

Great location
The Dominican hotel is a couple of minutes walk from the Old Town square and is the perfect location for an affordable hotel. The hotel is in an old monastery and is beautiful inside. The only thing that stopped us giving it 5 stars was the shower in the bathroom was cold and even once raised with reception it was luke warm. Overall a great hotel to stay in though with very helpful staff.
